New Moon (The Twilight Saga, Book 2) Review Summary

New Moon is the middle novel in the wildly popular Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer about love and vampires in Forks, Washington. At heroine Bella's 18th birthday party an event happens resulting in "The love story between Edward and Bella hits a critical obstacle at the beginning of the novel and it looks like their relationship has ended throughout most of the novel, although there is a feeling of hope." Bella meets a new dude who consoles her and gets closer to her. All the while she is involving herself in increasingly dangerous activity. We are also introduced to werewolves and "The story is inter-mixed with the history of how vampires and werewolves tried to exist together, along with their ambivalence towards each other in the present". Ultimately, New Moon is the continuation of the Bella/Edward saga, although, as the title implies, it takes place during a dark period of Bella's life. The typical response to this book was, "although it was not quite as good as Twilight I liked it a lot" . New Moon is in paperback at your local bookstore.

After suffering through the loss of her true, true love, Bella was finally able to make an attempt at a happy life once she started hanging out with Jacob.  For some strange reason he made it not hurt as much, and she finally found a way to connect to Edward if only in her mind.  As Bella...

I really don't have as much time to read as I would like, so when I do read several things happen. I either lose patience with poorly written books or I devour them up sort of like a group of teenagers on a pizza.  New Moon, book 2 in the Twilight Saga was one of those that, to be honest, had me confused....

I heard about Twilight by Stephenie Meyer about 3 weeks ago when I got an email from Borders with an article about the "Bella Luna" series being the next Harry Potter.  I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and looking for more books that can hold my attention like that series so I decided to give this series a try.  I read Twilight in just a few days and loved it.  About an hour after finishing it I went back to the bookstore to buy New Moon which is the second book of the series.  It also only took a few days to read and, although it was not quite as good as Twilight I liked it a lot.

New Moon is the second book in the Twilight series.  As you finish Twilight you realize that the Cullens family is going to leave Forks and Bella is going to return to Phoenix.  This is all a plan to keep Bella, her father, Charlie, and her mother Renee safe from another family of vampires: James, Laurent, and Victoria.

All it takes is a few chapters and you realize that Bella is a very accident-prone person.  At the beginning of New Moon everyone is celebrating Bella's 18th birthday.  Something tragic happens which is a matter of life or death for her and it forces Edward to leave her to...

I was highly anticipating this book. I had finished Twilight, and watched the movie, I could hardly contain myself. I read over half of the book in the first day!!!

While I was disappointed that there wasn't more Edward/Bella in this one, I thought that it was important to explore the relationship between Bella and Jake. While, I haven't read the next two novels yet, I was never so excited when Bella and Edward were reunited in the end. They are truly this generations Romeo and Juliet. I just hope that it doesn't end as tragically as that book did.....

During the break-up part of the book, though...

I couldn't put this book down.  It was a very fast read for me and I really enjoyed it.  Every time I fninished one of the three books in this series I was anxiously awaiting the arival of the next in the mail.

The love story was very complex and kept me on the edge of my seat wondering how it would turn out.  The action was great and very clear, almost as if you could see what was happening.

I'm always on the lookout for a good clean romance.  I hate the ones that get x rated and too mushy.  I like action in my books with a twist of romance to spruce it up.  This is exactly that and much more...

I like this book but the first one had a better relationship basis than this one. In New Moon the whole book was about how heartbroken Bella was when Edward left. It made me unhappy to read, a little bit, because she was so upset and I felt that he shouldn't have left her like he did. I loved the book over all and am happy waiting for the 3rd one to arrive from the Library. Stephenie Meyers is really good at catching your emotions.

I recently read the book, Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer (read review HERE) and was instantly hooked on the entire Twlight series.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on New Moon and start reading!  I'm usually not a big fan of fiction books, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I LOVED the first book, so I assumed the second book (New Moon) would be even better.

I anxiously turned each page of New Moon, waiting to be swept away by the intense love that drew me in while reading Twilight.  Well......I'd say that New Moon, at least for a good part of the book, just left me waiting.

In the book,...

**spoiler alert** I don't honestly know where to start with this one... but for the sake of covering my butt, if you haven't read this, I don't recommend reading on. I hate spoiling stuff for people. I suppose I'll start with the beginning...

Edward is gone. Ditched Bella at the end of the last book. Bella once again violates the norm. Unlike most normal high school girls, who are bummed, eat ice cream and bash the ex with friends and move on, Bella slips into a virtually catatonic depression. So much so, that she literally misses 6 months or so of her life. This is ridiculous! She met the dude,...

"New Moon," the sequel to Stephenie Meyer's New York Times Bestseller "Twilight," is a great read. Just like the sequel, "New Moon" delves into the love and lives of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen from Forks, Washington.

In "New Moon," the Cullens leave Forks, particularly Bella, trying to make her life normal as possible. After a few months of mourning and grieving, Bella finds her best friend Jacob, who has to hide a very important secret about his family and tribe from Bella. After Alice has a vision, and Edward is misinformed, it's off to Italy to harrowingly fight the Volturi for a loved one's...

The second book in Stephanie's series was heartbreaking, intriguing, and I impatiently turned pages while waiting for Edwards return! The story is inter-mixed with the history of how vampires and werewolves tried to exist together, along with their ambivalence towards each other in the present. Not bad for a sophomore title!

New Moon (The Twilight Saga Book 2)

by Stephenie Meyer

This was a really amazing follow up to the first book, Twilight. I enjoyed it as thoroughly as the first book, and was delighted with the addition of Werewolves, Indian lore and the developing storyline with Jacob and his friendship with Bella.

Again, this book would appeal to all ages, from the teen to the elderly. It has no major violence, no swearing, and no sex scenes that would offend.

I have heard that some feel that Bella is too needy in this novel and leads Jacob along to believe there might be more then a friendship developing. I feel...

This is the 2nd book from the Twilight Series.  You must read these books in sequence or they will have no impact on you.  If you loved Twilight, naturally you will read this.  I will not do spoilers, but bottom line - it is good, you get a great look at Bella as a character and you can totally relate to her, whether you are 14 or 30 years old!

New Moon is full of great love and romance yet it is full of action and suspense all the way.  Part of me wanted to throw the book across my bedroom yet I kept reading way into the night.  Stephanie Meyers is such a great young adult fiction writer all of her books are hard to put down.  The one thing I wish, if I could change one thing is that Edward would be a bit more involved in this book.  However, Bella learning she can act dangerously and some how bring Edward's voice to her is neat and adds much suspense to the book.  Although, Jacob is a great character in this book and comes to...

OMG what is there to say about eclipse? Well for starters Edward left Bella. When I read that I almost threw the book across the room. I couldn't believe that he did that. Then Bella started pulling all of those stupid stunts like walking up to strange men in dark allyways and riding motorcycles. Then there is Jacob. He turns into a wherewolfe and doesnt tell Bella. I mean she can keep a vampires secret but she isnt trustworthy enough to keep a wherewolfes whats up with that? Oh well they work things out and stay best friends so thats what counts. But then Bella decides to jump off of a cliff and...
