I normally really love Neutrogena products but this one was a disappointment to me. The intended purpose of the Wave Duo sounds fantastic; promising to help my skin in several different ways with an innovative little buffer (to briefly describe it). However, the only thing it did for me was what any normal skin moisturizing cleanser does, minus the cute little applicator. While it cleansed my bare face and left it feeling moisturized and smelling great, it was not effective when I had leftover make up on my face nor did it balance my skin tone or improve my skins texture. To sum it up; the extra cost for the fun looking buffing applicator is not worth it because it doesn't have enough power to it to exfoliate any better than using your own hands. I'm pretty disappointed.

I am always looking for the next best thing when it comes to my skin. I have suffered from horrible acne and now suffer from acne with dry skin. I bought this hoping it would give me that extra exfoliation I needed to help my skin look better. I'll start off by saying that it feels so good on the skin, rubbing this over my face was like getting a mini massage and it was extremely relaxing. What I did not like was the cleanser used on the cleansing pad, it made me break out super bad! If there was a way to pick a different cleanser to use on this I would still be using it today. Also you dispose of the pad after one use so if you wash your face twice a day this can be costly. Effectiveness It was very relaxing and felt great on my skin, but the cleanser used in the pad made me break out. Ease of Application You put the pad on, run it under water and then massage all over your face. It was very easy to figure out and use. Scent Just a light scent, nothing too strong.

When I first started using the Wave Duo, I loved it; it made my face super smooth, soft, and healthy-looking. I also liked and utilized the 2 speeds (the lower for every day cleaning and the higher for rigorous exfoliating). Overall it seemed to clean my face better than conventional cleaning with a cleanser. However, after about 3 weeks of use, my unit broke because the power button would no longer stay "clicked" on. The buttons that control the power and speed are push on, push off, "click" buttons. They are cheap little plastic buttons with springs under them and tiny metal latches that latch into grooves on the plastic molding of the buttons. When they are not latched, the springs pop the buttons back out. When these buttons are working, they make a "click" sound when pressed. I opened the unit up in attempt to see why my power button no longer worked. I found that dirty water had seeped in and mildew caked up under the buttons. I cleaned out the mildew with q-tips and rubbing alcohol and that seemed to fix the power button but it broke again within a week. My battery also started to drain very quickly and the motor that vibrated the device would not spin anymore. Even though the manufacturer says you can use this thing in the shower, you can't. Dirty water will get in and short or jam up your device. You can't even get this thing wet which totally defeats the purpose of using it to wash your face. Effectiveness The Neutrogena Wave Duo, cleaned my face better than anything else I have ever used. My face actually felt clean, and exfoliated. It was so soft, and it cleared up my problem areas. My face can get oily which would cause a few pimples, I don't have to worry about that when I am getting such a deep clean. Ease of Application This is not hard to use at all. You put on your cleanser of choice and you turn on the Neutrogena Wave Duo and press it against your face and move it around to get an all over clean. Scent The Neutrogena Wave Duo itself doesn't have a scent, and since you can choose what ever cleanser you want, you decide on the scent you want to smell. It doesn't get any easier than that.

I really enjoyed my original wave until it died. They're water proof but I think excess moisture is what finally did it in. I got the wave duo after a nice sale and a coupon but I was going to purchase this anyway after such good luck with the original. The pads that come with this are supposed to be single use but I find that you can really get two or three uses or more out of them if you're applying your own wash. I usually use the pads once and use the Neutrogena wash that is in them, although I find I don't care much for the cleanser that comes with them because over time it over dries. I usually use once, sometimes twice, then I rinse the pad out completely and for three or four more uses I can use that same pad with my own product on it. It doesn't really matter so much about the face wash you're using, the point is that the wave vibrates on a low or high speed to help dig in and exfoliate your face or chest if you prefer. The low speed doesn't do much for me. I find that I'm still using my own circular motions. Also, even on high, I find it more useful to use my own hand motions to give it more oomph. This does save my fingertips though. I am so grateful for that. Usually exfoliates rub off my sensitive fingertip skin. This product also gets down deeper in my pores and helps my everyday scrub get even deeper. I notice a huge difference in my T-zone around my nose and chin especially. It's gentle enough for chest and breasts too so you can scrub any unsightly body acne with it. I love this feature because on the low setting, it's not as abrasive and you get a deep clean everywhere you need it. Effectiveness Does a great job getting in my T-zone which is where I need it most. Ease of Application The pads can be annoying. I love adding my own product to it, which can be annoying also because it's necessary since the wash that comes with it over dries. Scent The scent is decent enough. It isn't fruity or citrusy or anything but it's nice enough for a man or woman to be satisfied.

I purchased this when my skin began to become more and more dry and flaky. I wasn't sure whether it would be harsh on my skin or not, but I needed something to help exfoliate and slough off the flaky skin. This really did the job!! It helped exfoliate my skin and didn't cause it to be more dry. The pads that came with it smelled pleasant and also didnt' cause further irratation to my skin. I would definitely recommend this to people with any skin types.

The wave is awesome! Effectiveness It definately does clean your skin and leaves it silky smoothe. Ease of Application There really isnt anything to apply besides the cleansing pad. All you have to do to apply that is lay it on top of your wave and give it a little tap and add water. Scent There really isnt a scent. I guess thats good bc scented stuff can break you out.

The Neutrogena Wave Duo had a good vibration speed on the higher speed, but did very little on the lower speed.  The pads didn't seem to have enough face wash on them, so I usually had to add more in order to feel like I was getting any of the cleaning benefits.  Mine lasted only about 6 months (and I didn't even use it every day) before it would no longer turn on.  I had someone take it appart to see if they could fix the contacts for the button, but it runs off a microchip.  For the money I paid I expected it to last longer and work better.  I also don't like that the refill pads are so expensive and have to be bought so frequently.

my husband gave this to me for christmas two years ago as a stocking stuffer. It is a little awkward to get the sponge wet and try not to drip the water all over the face. So I get it a little wet, then dab it on a washcloth to soak up some of the excess water so my face won't be dripping with water. I don't reallly like using it in cold weather months, because it makes my face cold. I use it late at night and I really want to be warm an cozy right before bed, not cold. But...if I am just considering the effects of the product on my skin, I would say it really does clear up my complexion overnight. It is very powerful in a great way. So i am overall please with it and will just use it in warmer months.

Well product is ok, but 10 may be a little too much for it. It's nothing like Sonic brushes or anything so don't expect that. Look at it as at more of a massager for your skin. massage can also be good for color of the face and it's also pleasant. The second part of the package, soaped sponges is what gives your skin even more benefits. the soap cleans it pretty well and leaves skin soft an smooth. you will probabaly still need a facecream after that though if your skin is dry. It won't magically remove black dots or anything, but it helps to make them less. Scrab probabaly exfoliates more than this little machine but it's more fun to use than scrub and doesn't affect your hands when you use it. It vibrates in your hand and one may say it's uncomfortable, but you can just switch hands. I like massages and face massages this way as well.

I've probably tried every gimmicky product you can find at the drugstore (sadly, cannot afford the really expensive stuff... yet!). That's exactly what I thought when I saw the Neutrogena Wave Duo - that it was a gimmick and a wasteful one at that. All those one-time-use pads? I wasn't thrilled. But then I scored a coupon and found it on sale, so I had to try this new tool that I'd heard so many good things about. And now? I'm hooked on the Neutrogena Wave Duo. It has 2 different speeds to adjust to your preferences (I like the faster speed) and the pads come prepped with cleanser so there's no fussing with extra product. The unit is completely waterproof, so I love to use it in the shower. My face is wonderfully clean as though I've used a mask or exfoliating product, but the deep clean comes from the vibrating, not some abrasive scrubbing. I've also come to realize I can wash out the pad, flip it over and use the backside for the next time. I've even rinsed and reused EACH side twice. So it's still wasteful, but for such a deep down clean, I find my ways to enjoy this product.
