I live in Hawaii and since the sun is intense here all year round, sunscreen use is a must. Being prone to melasma around my mouth and chin area, it's very important that I find a sunscreen that actually works and is also affordable since I'll be using it everyday. I have used many different kinds of sunscreens and sunblocks in the past but they either didn't work too well (as evidenced by me getting more melasma even though I reapply) or they were too white or too oily.
What made me purchase the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock in the first place was the new "Helioplex" technology which prevents the sunscreen from degrading under UV light. This "degradation" is probably the reason why the sunscreens I used in the past didn't work so well.
My experience: I've been using the Neutrogena for a month now and so far I haven't had any adverse reaction to it (no breakouts or allergies) and it doesn't irritate my face. It also absorbs rather quickly and doesn't leave a white cast. As far as the oiliness is concerned, I still have to blot with some powder but I must note that I also have an oily face. Still yet, this is by far the least oily of all the sunscreens I've used that doesn't make me feel smothered in grease. Most importantly, it has prevented me from getting more dark spots on my face and I noticed within 2 weeks of using this that my skin tone had evened out. Excellent!
I bought my husband his own tube as well because he works under the sun a lot and so far so good. We both love it!
