To the Point

I have sunscreen and sun block everywhere. I never leave home without it. I have many 1- ounce tubes of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock that I’ve been using. I liked it a lot at first which was quite awhile ago. I liked it because of this statememt from www.drugstore.com

"Neutrogena has developed a breakthrough new sun protection technology complex called Helioplex, specifically engineered to deliver very high, very broad and photo-stable UV protection."

A Closer View

We are told that this has an ultra light and clean feel. We are told that it is not greasy and leaves skin soft and smooth.

So what’s wrong? I’ve been using sunscreens of all kinds for many years. I keep it in my hot car, hot pocketbook, and hot beach bag. I have never experienced sunblock melting.

I first noticed this in the spring when I was in my car. I went to put it on and just oil came out. After that experience I shook it before applying. That really didn’t help. I still used it but today was the last time – the icing on the cake as they say.

Here I was in the Grand Canyon with my camera in one hand and the Ultra Sheer in the other. I squeezed it and rather than a nice thick lotion (even my hot CVS lotion stays lotion-like) I got oil. It was really a mess. I couldn’t use my hands for about 10 minutes until the heat dried the grease off my face and hands. When I asked my husband if this lotion, which has an SPF of 55 and was recommended by my dermatologist (Thus all the 1-ounce tubes.) was rubbed into my face he said that he only saw grease.

It works. It keeps the sun off of me but I won't use it again.

Price: $8.99 for 3 ounces

Jo’s Viewpoint

I don’t like it!

Jo, Put your hands behind your head and step away from that laptop! Doesn't anyone just vacation anymore? You're in the Grand friggin' Canyon! LOL Rudi

I can't find any that work for my face. I either get a rash or they don't work and I burn. I wish I could find something that doesn't cause me to break out or get weird rashes on my face. If you know of anything for super sensitive skin (to sunblock anyway), let me know!
