Neutrogena Skin id —

I live in a high desert so my biggest problem is DRYNESS. Even when I filled in my profile to indicate super-dry, super-sensitive skin in a desert environment they still recommended products with salicylic acid! (Even the moisturizer they gave me had s.a. -- guaranteed NOT to moisturize . . . . ) When I called to cancel my autoshipments and cancel my membership the csr seemed reluctant and kept asking me why I didn't like the products. I told her that all of the products they recommended for me contained salicylic acid which only made my problems worse. Her response? "All of our products contain salicylic acid, ma'am." WHAT? Can't be very personalized then, can it? If you mess with your profile in as many combinations as you can you'll find they only have a handful of products; it's not really as specific to your skin type as you think. So I'm back to moisturizing over-the-counter products.

No offense but....basically ANY acne medication has some form of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. If they didn't, then it wouldn't help your acne at all. And I'm assuming since you ordered this product then you have/had acne you wanted to get rid of, so you shouldn't be so angry that all their products have salicylic acid. I too have extremely dry skin, but this product works great. Wanna know why? I have the sense to use ANOTHER moisturizer after I'm done using my 3 step regimen. Yea, it might say its a moisturizer but if it still drys out your skin, then after it dries just put some face lotion on! Duh. Sometimes people don't think for themselves and realize that all products aren't complete miracles and you might have to think outside the box a bit. blah

btw...not all of their products use s.a., and the reason they r giving u products with s.a. is because is FAR less harmful for dry skin than benzoyle peroxide. many products do use these because they work and are low cost on the consumer. you cant really complain much if you didnt even try the product in the first place. s.a. is considered the less damaging of these two products. also, due to the various different combinations there are, numerically, there is no way that you could have tried every one within a reasonable amount of time. using just stress and sweat, there are eighty different combinations. there are far more portions to the test, as well. as for the sales rep...it was a sales rep...they will do anything to ensure that you keep the product...thats what they are paid to do. also, that particular rep was obviously not very knowledgeable on the product and really should be fired for that fact alone, because most of my products do not contain s.a. at all.

I agree with your assessment. 2 of the 3 products had s.a. and the one that did not had benzoyl peroxide... Yikes, I have sensitive, combo skin (oily and dry) I did not even order the suggested products.
