An incredible Tanner
An incredible Tanner
This product left me very streaky with lines all over my body, and the mist made it hard to tell where I applied the product and where I still needed to apply. Effectiveness The product made me tan. However, I was left with lines and streaks on my skin that were embarrassing. I applied this product myself, and perhaps if someone else had applied it for me, it may have gone on more smoothly. Ease of Application It was hard for me to distinguish where I had applied the product already and where I had yet to apply it. So, some places were missed, and others were overlapped, and this caused an uneven look on my skin when I was finished. Scent The scent was ok- but I breathed in a lot of the product due to the mist application. I would have rather it be free-and-clear of scents in this case. Longevity Unfortunately, my uneven tan lasted several days! I scrubbed to get the color (and the top layer of my skin off), but if applied evenly, I think it would have lasted longer.
After having some moderate success with different brands of foaming self tanners, I thought I'd give Sheer Body Tint Instant Temporary Tan a shot. I didn't have the worst foam tan experience of all time but I definitely wasn't pleased and I definitely won't be buying this tanner again. Effectiveness I don't know what it is about the Neutrogena tanning products, but they never seem to do much. This is the second of their products that gave me just no results at all. I don't believe for a second that it's got any tanner in it at all. "Sheer" is apparently code for invisible to these people. There will be almost no color change, don't even bother. Ease of Application The foam stuff in here is kind of weird. It seems to melt as soon as it touches skin which makes it hard to apply and know you got an even coat any place. It's far from the most convenient way to put on some self tanner. Longevity I can't really say this lasted long. It was hard to see any color change when I started using it.
Neutrogena Sheer Body Tint Instant Temporary Tan is a joke. It's such a bad product. It's actually kind of comical how bad the product is. It's just a messy, streaky, disaster. Where to start with this product. Well, it comes out in a mousse form, sort of. When you squirt the product in your hand you can see the color separate from the mousse part. It has a weird texture. When you put it on it has a sticky texture and feels kind of weird on your skin. It's also impossible to simply rub on correctly. It settles in certain spots leading to weird patches of color. After a while you start to notice streaks. It really just looks so horrible. My legs had patches that were slightly darker then streaks all over. Luckily, this stuff rinses off easily in the shower so you can get rid of that horrible mess on your body. I have no idea why Neutrogena made such a horrible product. I feel like I was getting punk'd when I used it. Do NOT buy Neutrogena Sheer Body Tint Instant Temporary Tan. It does not go on well at all. It's such a poor product.
I knew that this was a TEMPORARY tan solution when I purchased Neutrogena's Sheer Body Tint Instant Temporary Tan so I figured it would be rather light to begin with and fairly easy to apply. It failed on both counts. First, this wasn't light. It ended up being a sort of dark orange color which is not attractive. Thank goodness it was only a temporary tan and I didn't have to walk around dark orange for days. It was also not easy to apply. I just couldn't get it to not streak! After a dark, streaky application I hopped back into the shower to remove it where it came off very quickly with a gentle application of my mesh body pouf. So, at least it was easy to remove. I was so unhappy with this poorly planned and executed product that I returned it to the store for a refund. It is a complete waste of time and money and I really cannot recommend it under any circumstances, despite being from one of my favorite brands.

Neutrogena Sheer Body Tint Instant is not good at all! This is my first negative review I have given. But this product definitely deserves it. It is very difficult to apply. No matter how hard you try, it is streaky. It seems like all you should have to do is rub it in like a moisturizer. But the product just isn't very good. I wanted a temporary tan for one day. I was going to go to an event and what I was wearing would have looked better if I was tanned. I use sunblock all year and my skin is pretty pale. I know a warm, glowing tan makes me LOOK healthier, but I have to consider the long-term effects the sun has on my skin. So I bought this product (because of positive reviews I read elsewhere). I tried it a few days before my event. I tried just rubbing it on and had poor results. So I tried to apply it with a large makeup sponge and it was not any better. The color is too dark. And it gave me a kind of orange-ish tint. It looked so fake I just couldn't be seen like that!! Luckily, it washes off easily and completely. I threw it away! Effectiveness It does color your skin. It does not cover evenly or in a "natural" color. Ease of Application It is VERY difficult to apply. Scent I don't remember what it smelled like. But I don't remember NOT liking the smell, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt and rate it a 7 Longevity I don't know how long it lasts because I washed it off almost immediately.
I don't see the point of this product at all. First of all, it's a spray tan, but it washes off so quickly. The majority of the color within the product when I first applied it washed off when I took the first shower. It gets annoying, and it's truly not worth it. If you really want to use a spray tan for a quick color, then this is definitely not something you want to use. It comes out streaky and extremely dark/orange. It's hard to get it even and it's just not worth the hassle at all.
Neutrogena Sheer Body Tint Instant Temporary Tan was the first Instant spray tan I ever tried and I hated it! It was so hard to apply evenly even while using a sponge to try and avoid streaks. I felt like I needed to use so much of it to go on evenly. It would clump up really weird on my skin and look aweful. One good thing was that it was easy to wash off and start over with it but it took so long to get a nice even looking color that it definetly was NOT worth it. I junked it and tried a couple others (Sally Hansen) and they work much better. I used this product in the winter (live in MI) so I did not have to worry about it coming off while swimming but I would think that is a very valid point for anyone using it in the summer time.
This self tanninng Mousse by Neutrogena is junk. It is temporary which means it washes off. Which is good if you end up with streaks but is bad if you are planning on swimming, or being outside where it might rain. It goes on horrible. The mousee has a strange texture and the color seems to separate from the "mousse". It goes on all splotchy and it does not spread evenly at all! Don't wast your money. But if you do try it, remember it comes off in the shower or anywhere else you might get wet.
