In an effort to simply my summer skincare routine I decided to give the Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily Moisturizer a try. I wanted something to defend against the harmful sun but which would not make me look even greasier than necessary in the humid summer months. I loved that this was a very high SPF of 45. Most facial moisturizers are about 15 and that's really too low. I also loved that this came in a flat, squeezable foundation like tube. The little nozzle on it made it quite easy to portion out exactly the amount I needed to use and I wasn't left with extra on my hands that went to waste. I used this successfully for a month or so in the spring but once the weather started getting hot and humid it just wasn't the solution I needed. I found that it still left my skin with a beautiful, soft feel but that it was just too potent for use in the summer and resulted in a rather greasy look. So, for the other eight or nine months of the year when there is no nasty heat and humidity I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product but it really is not designed for summer use.

I have very pale and fair skin, and it's quite hard to find lotion that is able to be used on my sensitive skin. I usually break out if I use cheap sun block, so I decided to invest in this (although it was still fairly priced). It is good quality, it soaks into my skin quite quickly, and it stays on for a long time.

I've only recently started using sunscreen on my face as part of my regular routine (I know, I know, it's not good that I've waited so long!) I struggle with some occasional breakouts and was always reluctant to affect the balance of my skin with another product, and I always imagined that sunscreens would be heavy and cause issues. But Neutrogena Healthy Defense hasn't given me any such problems so far. I'm really pleased to find a product with a relatively high SPF that feels so light and unobtrusive. Sometimes I'll use this in combination with another moisturizing layer, but mostly I use it on its own, and it never feels cakey, heavy, or oily on my skin. In fact, I've forgotten it's even there just a minute or two after I've applied. This product has finally convinced me that I can work SPF protection into my face routine without disrupting the look or feel of my skin when I go out.

My dermatologist recommended that I switch to this daily moisturizer and I'm glad that I did. I love the fact that it has a sunscreen and moisturizer in one. I'm very fair skinned and in my middle fifties, but my skin looks considerably younger and I feel that has to do with using products like this. It's easy to apply and the only drawback is a little bit of a white sheen left on my face. I make sure to rub it in completely so I don't look like a geisha girl. Effectiveness This moisturizer really does protect against sun damage, and living here in California and being outside a lot, I know I'm using the best. Ease of Application The moisturizer blends into my skin easily, just need to watch the little bit of white sheen left on the skin. Scent I rate it as ok, since it's pretty much unscented, which is perfect for me. I love scent, but I prefer facial moisturizers without any scent. So, if you're looking for scent, this is not for you.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily Moisturizer is awesome.  There is a higher SPF that will protect your skin from the harmful UV rays while leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth.  It is oil free so great for those acne sufferers such as myself. I love neutrogena products because they are dermotologist recommended, affordable and healthy for the skin. I give it an above average rating for use, price, and product efficiency.  This product is affordable and can be found in your local drug store or mega store.  Easy to find in the stores as well as online. Impeccable. I use the untinted one. It is a great size so you can carry it in your makeup bag or take it whereever you go without causing your bag to feel cluttered. The special ingredient used in the Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily Moisturizer is called helioplex, which is a very high and broad UV protection ingredient. Therefore you do not have to worry about a sun damage to your skin if out if the sun. For the oily face sufferers, do not be discourage as this product is lightweight and non greasy...it definitely does not contribute to oily skin.

This is a great moisturizer, but let's be clear -- it is not meant as an all purpose moisturizer. Most of the time, I do not use this moisturizer for one simple reason: it is not necessary. For most of the year, I am perfectly happy with my other Neutrogena moisturizer with less SPF (not to mention less expensive!). But during the summer, or when I am spending a lot of time outdoors, this is my go-to moisturizer. It spreads very evenly, doesn't feel greasy like other moisturizers with high SPF, and most importantly, it doesn't make me break out after using it all day. It's true that it doesn't stay on as nicely as sweatproof sunblock, but I don't sweat that much so it's not really a problem for me. I always make sure I have some of it in my backpack.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily moisturizer is the only product I use for my face. For a long time I had been looking for a moisturizer that would give me sun protection. My skin is very oily and very prone to break outs because therefore I always look for a products that gets rid of all the excess oil on my face. This product worked perfect with my face. It goes on smoothly and it does not leave layer of resedu on my face. It really helps that it smells really good. The smell reminds me of going to the beach and to the pool. I live in a state where it snows half of the year, but to me it does not mean that I don't have to protect my face from the sun rays. The cold weather makes my skin crak and this is why I like this product so much. It helps my skin in the hot and cold weather. I highly recomend this product who needs the extra SPF 45 protection along with a moisture needed for all types of weather.

Today I am reviewing Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer.  I have never used any Neutrogena product before.  I've been using a daily moisturizer that I didn't even realize was just 'floating' on top of my face.  It felt heavy and thick and wasn't a feeling that I felt was clean and doing it's job.  I only use face make up when I go out for special occasions.  My friend asked if my moisturizer had sun protection as being a dog trainer I am out doors daily.  I checked the bottle after using it for approximately 4 years, it did not have any Sun Protection at all.  So I went out and purchased the Neutrogena Moisturizer and was amazed at what a good value it was for the size of the container.  When I got home, I washed my face with my dermotologists recommended brand and then applied my new Neutrogena.  It went on feeling so smooth, obsorbed right away into my face and the lite scent was wonderful.  I had a healthy looking slight shine, softer looking skin and with the added SPF, I was just delighted!  I would recommend this product to family and friends without hesitation.

I originally purchased Neutrogena's Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily Moisturizer based on rave reviews from a very trustworthy friend, a need for a new moisturizer with an SPF, and having had only wonderful results from past Neutrogena products. My skin is very sensitive which makes buying new products a huge risk everytime. I bought this during the summer, when my skin is normal and rarely dry or oily. Every time I applied the product my face became very oily and would not absorb the moisturizer (I always applied very little moisturizer on my skin to avoid putting on too much product). After patting off the excess oil and putting on an untinted powder to absorb any oil left from the moisturizer my skin still looked off. I also found that it was not giving me enough SPF coverage to aid my skin from the sun, I was getting sunburned just as easily as if I had not been wearing anything at all.  A week into wearing it on a daily basis (despite frustrations with the oily appearance and sunburns) my skin started dramatically drying out. I had to give it up and go back to my regular sensitive skin Neutrogena Moisturizer.

First of all, I have rosacea and accordingly, have special needs. I use a gel daily to minimize the redness and it can tend to dry out my skin. I also have skin cancer that runs in the family, so I have to be extra careful with my extremely fair skin I have used this product for about 5 years and I absolutely love it. I have used it faithfully every day, sometimes twice a day. Pros: -Lightweight, non greasy -Will not clog pores, in fact was recommended to me by my dermatologist who insisted this, Cetaphil, or Purpose, were the best for skin, -Does not interfere with my medicated topical gel -No fragrance -Highest SPF with the above-mentioned attributes -Lasts me about 2.5 months Cons -Per ounce, a little pricey, but not as much as brands you can get at Department Stores   So, I would recommend this product as a daily addition to your regime. You may want to consider getting a night cream, as this is too light weight.
