This is the new and improved facial sunscreen - and perfect.
5 star rating

Practical, very skin conscious, loving this product, lipgloss only, not rich, adversely reacting to most products, sensitive to most products, into trying new things

Pros

absorbs quickly, evens skin texture, worth mid-range drugstore price, protects from harsh elements, feels lightweight on skin, won't irritate problematic skin

I picked this up at a local warehouse club-type store for about 50% of the retail price (usually $12-15 a tube, but I got a two-pack for the same price) because my current arsenal of facial sunscreens kept making my eyes water, even when I didn't apply anywhere near them!

Well, I'm so happy with this new moisturizer that I'd buy it for its full retail price over anything else I've ever used for sun protection - after all, it is still a drugstore product, and not a high-end boutique product whose ingredients may not be listed! As someone with normal oil-balanced but troublesome skin (when treated poorly, my skin will break out in acne, develop hives, start flaking, or create armies of blackheads, etc.), I know to steer clear away from products that do not list ingredients, or products that do not specifically note, "Made for sensitive skin"/"Hypoallergenic"/"non-comedogenic".

Here are a few warnings, though:

When I first used this, I thought I'd been ripped off! It felt, looked, and smelled just like normal body sunscreen! A few hours after my first application, however, I felt my face and there was no other way to put it - it was like fine porcelain compared to a pumice stone! The moisturizer had hydrated thoroughly and put up a fair barrier between my skin and the elements. And best of all, no adverse reactions. Weeks later, and this still holds true!

I still have to be careful about this stuff getting into my eye. The only time I got watery, itchy eyes from the moisturizer was when I'd rubbed them without washing my hands with a good soap first. Whoops! Other than that, I usually dab some onto my lids and under-eye area (still not too close to the bottom lash-line, of course) after moisturizing the rest of my face, and have no problem with the chemicals.

Just because it comes in relatively small (1.7 oz) foundation-like tubes does not mean it's not worth it! All you need is about a dime-sized amount to cover both face and neck every morning, and besides, there are so many other products out there that will do worse things to your skin for much less money as well as for much MORE money - either way, you'd be getting a better value from trusted Neutrogena, if only you hunt down the right product!
