Comments about Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer with PureScreen SPF 50:
I regularly use other **Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer** products. None, in my experience, have been this hearty. This richness (or thickness depending on how you look at it) comes with the territory of UVA/UVB "naturally-sourced" sunscreen ingredients. There is always a the trade-off.
PLUSES: Formulated for sensitive skin, this product has no fragrance, no PABA chemicals, and, although slippery, it is NOT greasy. Dermatologist-recommended, it meets the 50 SPF standard which some folks now think of as minimum protection again harmful rays. It is easy to apply from its 1.7 fl. oz. tube.
MINUSES: Naturally sourced sunscreens or not, if you dislike the pale white film of Zinc Oxide (the other active ingredient here is Titanium Dioxide), this is not for you. In my experience as a paleface, this white ingredient appears to be absorbed. It also explains part of the thickness of this cream. Because of the thickness, this **HD** comes in a tube -- a minus in my book. The only real way to empty such a tube is to cut the bottom off with kitchen shears when you finally reach frustration level.
Other, lighter **Healthy Defense** SPF lotions are non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). No such claim is made for this particular **HD**product.
SUMMING IT UP: I'm inclined to use this product only if I plan on being in the sun for long periods of time. Otherwise I still prefer the 115 SPF **Healthy Defense All Day Moisture Lotion"**. Do a price search on this one if you want to save money. It is pricier than other **HD** formulas.
