Didn't work out for me

5

I was given a sample of the Neutrogena daily moisturizer with SPF 30. My first impression was great. It was very light weight, easy to apply, it didn't seem greasy, the smell was good and not overbearing and it moisturized my skin very well. I thought this was going to be a winner and I was excited to use it because it seemed like it would be a good fit for me. But however with time I found that this moisturizer made me break out really bad. The next day I had little pimples forming along my jawline and my skin was red. I do not know if I was just allergic to one of the active ingredients or what. I will definitely rethink purchasing moisturizers from Neutrogena after having such an adverse outcome to my skin. I have had no problems with their sunscreen, but for whatever reason this moisturizer was not good for my skin. I am sad it didn't work out because having a SPF of 30 sounds wonderful.

Doesn't have any tint which I really enjoy, and soaks in easily.

This sunscreen was absolutely amazing and I was so happy that it worked so well. It didn't have quite high enough coverage for my extremely light, pale and sensitive skin, but I think this is good for people with light skin (that isn't pale) or olive skin. It soaked in very easily which was nice and it covered me, but it seemed to rub off quickly.

This Neutrogena moisturizer is terrific!

This Neutrogena daily moisturizer with SPF 30 was recommended by my dermatologist, so I decided to give it a try. I've been using it daily every since, and that was four years ago! I love the high SPF. And, this moisturizer is not greasy at all. It goes on smooth and is odorless. I do not want to smell like I've been at the pool, and this feels and smells like any regular moisturizer. I've never had any trouble with it clogging my pores and causing me to have breakouts. My dermatologist advised me that an SPF of 30 is necessary when truly trying to protect delicate facial skin from the sun's rays, and I was surprised to find that very few quality moisturizers have SPF 30. It's easy to find SPF 15, but if it's not effective enough, then what good is it? I find the price to be pretty reasonable for this product, although I'd like to see more coupons available for it. I almost always have to pay full price.

It's a great body moisturizer.

I have bought many sunscreens over the years and most of them either have a strong smell or are too runny.  This one is creamy and soaks into the skin nicely.  It is very moisturizing without being greasy.  I don't use it on my face when I am putting on makeup because my face moisturizer has sunscreen in it.  I do use it on my face when I don't use makeup.  I prefer the untinted.

Finally! Non-greasy, non-smelly, hydrating high SPF all in one!

I received a sample tube of this stuff from my dermatologist's office, who had hundreds of little tubes temptingly displayed in a basket, ready for the picking.  I have always had good results from Neutrogena products, so yes, I did have a bit of a bias already.  But I felt it surpassed my expectations, which is always quite welcome! I usually go with non-tinted moisturizer since I am fairly pale and some tints just look downright funky on me. Besides, I kinda dig the Snow White look - pale-ish skin, dark hair, etc. What is superior about this moisturizer is that the SPF it contains is high-spectrum, filtering out all the scary UVA and UVB rays at the same time.  It has no scent and thus was very gentle to my whacko skin, which will redden slightly at the drop of a hat.  It has some antioxidant ingredients, like Vitamin E, which I've heard makes the sunscreen formula work even better.  It is also non-comedogenic, and will clog nary a pore on your pretty little head.   I swear I've started to see less of those little brown spots that clutter my face.  My skin feels smooth and protected, and it does go well under make-up.  In fact, I felt it made a perfect canvas for the foundation I usually use!

Works great, but not under make-up.

I love the Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer as a sun screen, but not for every day under make-up. **The pros:** - It absorbs very quickly for a sunscreen.  - It doesn't have too strong of a sun screen smell.  The smell is strong enough that it would bother me to wear it every day.  But if I'm going to be outside for hours at the beach or tailgating in the strong sun, it's not bad.  **The cons:** - It leaves a faint white sheen on my face.  I'm naturally very fair, so it's not too noticable on me.  But I'd imagine it would be very noticable on darker skin tones. - I can't wear it under make-up.  When I apply foundation, the moisturizer sort of "peels."  That's to say, it flakes off my skin.  That makes for uneven application of my foundation and I'm not sure how much sunscreen is left on my face. All in all, I like this product for days when I go to the beach or I'm going to be outside hiking.  I wouldn't use it as my everyday moisturizer/sunscreen.  The smell is too strong for the office.
