Neuschwanstein is one of the most stunningly beautiful castles in the world, both inside and out, and with its dramatic backdrop of lush pine forests and snow-capped alpine peaks, it's easy to see why it's one of Bavaria's most famous icons. I have been to Neuschwanstein two times now, and it really is a beautiful castle.  You really feel like you are seeing something out of a fairy tale! — — The castle is in Bavaria and about 2 hours south of Munich.  It is actually very close to the border of Austria.  The castle was built by crazy King Ludwig, and he really had a grand vision.  Unfortunately, the king went broke and died, and the castle was never finished. — — If you decide to visit Neuschwanstein, I would recommend making a reservation (it can be done online).  The crowds can… read full review »

Cool castle.  The Bavaria is absolutly beautiful.  The castle was beautiful on the outside but not finished on the inside so it left me wanting more.  Not too far is also a palace named Linderhof Palace (don't quote me on the spelling).  Go there after to see what the palace should have looked like finished. … read full review »
