I had been thinking about trying Netflix for a while but kept puting it off. A couple months ago I got one of those pop up ads that was advertising a 2 week free trial so I said what the heck and signed up for the 3 at a time unlimited plan. Everything was going great until one time when I returned 2 movies and the post office lost them! I was really panicking because I didn't want to have to pay 20 a piece for these movies if I reported them lost. I went onto Netflix, put in the date I sent them back, and the titles. To my suprise, they just went ahead and sent the next two movies from my list without penalizing me! I was also worried that they would tell me to allow more time for them to receive them (it had only been a few days but typically it only takes 1 day for them to receive the movies and vice versa). I was impressed at that point with their customer-focused approach.
A couple weeks ago, on a Sunday, I put in my queue a movie---Confessions of a Shopaholic----that was coming out that following Tuesday. I was thinking that maybe it wouldn't be available right away because it was a new release (all of the movies I've rented from them in the past had been a little bit older so I wasn't sure what to expect). Anyways, when I checked the mail on Tuesday, the movie was there---on the day it became available in stores!!
Part of the reaosn that I signed up for Netflix was so I could rent some old tv shows that I really missed---but didn't want to have to pay $50 a season by buying them. I never had an issue getting all the discs in order and on time. Maybe it's because the one series that I've gotten through---La Femme Nikita--isn't hugely popular like some other series so it's not likely to ever be out of stock.
Yesterday I got 3 new movies in the mail. When I looked at the titles, I realized that they were #1, #2, and then #4 from my list. I wondered what happened to #3 so I went to Netflix and they said the #3 movie was temporarily out of stock. I was okay with this since it wasn't a series so it wasn't important that I got them in a row. Anyway, later on that same day I checked my email and they said they had located the out of stock movie at another warehouse and had went ahead and sent it to me. I was really suprised that they sent it even though that would make 4 movies I have at home and I only pay for 3.
I haven't had any issue so far with scratched dvds. I did have a probelm one time with a dvd skipping but I think it was more my dvd player---which is a $20 model from walmart. All I had to do was take out the dvd, checked the back for scratches---which there weren't any--and put it back in the player and it worked fine.
I love netflix!!
