For years, people would tell me I need to join Netflix. I shrugged it off, and kept making the trips back and forth to the video store. Then, I was just 6 hours late in returning a video and they charged me a 5 day late fee! That was the LAST STRAW. I went home and joined Netflix that very same day. It was one of the best financial decisions I've made in a long time!

Netflix works like this. You sign up and have to get them your bank information so they can draw out your monthly payment. What you pay depends on how many movies you want to receive at a time. I pay $ 8.99 to receive one movie at a time. I can get as many movies as I want in a month, and it takes NO TIME AT ALL to get them back & forth to Netflix. My fee is automatically taken from my bank account & I don't have to think about. Netflix pays to get the rental movie to you & they even pay the return postage for when you send the movie back to them. They supply the envelope, it's already addressed, all you do is pop it in the mail and wait for your next movie to appear. When you sign up at Netflix, you select 6 movies that you want to wait in "que". The first movie is sent out, and when you return it, the second movie on the list is sent out.

Netflix has a great selection of movies to pick from, and they are never out of stock like at the video store. You get the movie you want right away, and then keep it however long you want to keep it. If it takes you a week to watch it, fine. If it takes you a month, that's fine too, but you would really cheat yourself out. You pay the monthly fee regardless of how many movies you receive. 1 movie, 5 movies, 10 movies....it's all the same price. I haven't taken advantage of this service, but Netflix also offers the option of watching movies instantly from your computer. I don't know much about this, but wanted to mention this option in my review. I

I've never had a problem with receiving scratched or damaged movies from Netflix. Sometimes I will see fingerprints on the DVD, but I just gently wipe them away with a cloth and the movie works fine.

I have been extrememly happy with my Netflix membership and will NEVER return to the video store. I love the convenience of having my movies delivered right to my door, and avoiding the trips back and forth to the video store. Also, the pressure of having to watch the movie by a specific time if completely eliminated.

Bottom Line: I'm a very satisfied Netflix customer & would recommend their services to everyone that likes to rent movies. It makes sense financially & is so much more convenient.

Been trying to get a hold of you to ask a few questions about Examiner. I left a DM on twitter with my email address but if you want me to PM you here, I will.

I'm so glad you jumped on board with this, JJ! Stock up on microwave popcorn because you are going to have the time of your life, if you're a cinema buff like me. You will really appreciate this especially when bad winter weather comes again. That's a good tip about not keeping the movies too long -- here is another one ... you may want to consider upgrading to having two movies out at once. It doesn't cost much more and it can be important if you are watching a movie which comes in two instalments because they consider each instalment to be a separate film rental. Take care and I hope you enjoy "Wind Chill" if and when you get to watch it!

I like your review! Now if we could only get the public library to work this way.
