Great idea but it's not perfect...

a television watcher, expecting good, fair service, happy to watch movies at home, a movie lover, Budget-Conscious, appreciative of good service, Interested in the best deal, too lazy to go out to Blockbuster

Pros

receiving movies in the mail, great deal for frequent renters, easy to learn system, good response from their website, great selection

Cons

Often get broken/scratched movies, have to be pro-active for best results

Netflix is a really good service for those of us who are too busy to make it out to the video store. It's nice that the postage is free and that there really are no late fees. We have kept movies for weeks before and have never been charged a dime. However, receiving cracked, broken and severely scratched disks in the mail is extremely disappointing and discouraging. Especially considering that Netflix often takes more than 3 days to send out replacements disks, which can leave you without a movie for a long period of time and not getting your money's worth that month. Overall, the site is easy to navigate. There is plenty of information about movies, consumers can leave reviews and the site will actually recommend movies based on your ratings/movies you have rented. Netflix attempts to make renting movies as easy as possible. While there are a few kinks in the system (i.e. broken disks, etc.), for the selection and convenience, I recommend Netflix.
