When my household only had one computer, we used a basic DSL modem from AT&T to hook it up to the internet. However, when my siblings started getting laptops, we knew we would have to buy a router to have all the laptops connected to the web. We didn't want to spend too much so we just went to Office Max, and it was on sale for $50. It's all white, with an antenna, and 4 ports in the back to hook up cables to it. It came with an installation disk, and a manuel, but I guess what doesn't nowadays? It was easy to understand and we got internet acess to all the computers within 20 minutes. Not bad right? We haven't had any issues with dropped signals, but occassionally, we have to turn off and on the router because of internet connectivity issues. Not sure if that's because of router or internet service provider. Anyway, to sum it up, if you have more than one computer in your household, and you want internet on all of them, this is cheap and it does the job.
