Range much lower than claimed

I was looking for a router with long range, this was not it. although easy to set up it it does not work as claimed.I was looking for a wireless router with the range to reach from the second floor rear of my apartment to the first floor front.Both techs that I spoke to suggested this product, I am disappointed. In the end I had to buy two network cables and move the router downstairs.
