Great pre paid service

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

At one point and time I had to use a pre-paid service. I ended up getting Net 10 and I liked it! Although their phones aren't super fancy, you have total control of your minute and texting allowance. Every text you send takes about half of a minute which if you don't text much it's not too bad. I became busier and needed more text allowance so I got a monthly plan unlimited. This phone service is perfect for teenagers to learn to budget their talk time and bills. I think this service is a great starting out point for first time cell phone users. You can also get the minute cards at different locations and gas stations which makes it very convienient and easy to get to. I have since know a fe...

They changed my cell number every month!

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I got my phone October 2011 and stopped using them Jan 2012. Every month when I paid for the next month of service i would have problems. My biggest was that my cell number changed on me twice! WhenIi called CS no one could give me an answer. Once they even asked me if I didn't like my new cell number. What is the point of giving your friends/family your number if it will change each time you ad minutes to your account. Also each month I would call before my service end date, and my phone would still be shut off. Each month I would spend at least 2 hours on the phone with customer service. And they were horrible. I bought their new Andriod phone and now I am stuck with this phone. ...

A cell phone with training wheels

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

It's funny every kid in my family and my friends kids all gave their parents more grey hairs when they got the kids a cell phone and then the bill came in.  $600.00 to $1000.00 were the cell phone bills and most of them asked what their kids were thinking and the kids would reply "I donno know".

I bought my first cell phone and I didn't want a contract nor the monthly bills so I went with a pre-paid phone.  I bought mine from Wal-mart and I chose the Net10 Nokia 1600 phone for $29.99.  The selling point is that they give a FREE 300 min with the purchase of the phone and I only reload my phone every other month for $30 and with that you get another 300 min and ...

I would choose otherwise...

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I have had the Net10 company before and I would not choose them again. It's fine if you are on the pay as you go plan and use the minutes, and are just looking for a simple phone. I bought a Net10 phone / pay card at Walmart I believe. I tried to call them for help setting up and I could not understand the lady, then she was no help. I tried calling back again and got a bit further with the set up but for someone who has never had a phone I had a lot of issues and they were not much help. Once the phone was set up through them, I had alot of issues with their minutes. Service was terrible, I could not walk and talk, once I found a spot that I had good service I stayed there. Every time I moved whoever I was talking to would say "Are you still there?" and they would tell me they can not hear me, etc. Mostly I was breaking in and out. If your looking for a phone service to get your through, then this is fine. It just was not for me or for the price. I hope you have better luck.

An amazing service for a great price

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased a kit from Walmart for my daughter, because I wanted to see how well she would do with a cell phone prior to adding her to my Sprint plan. I went ahead and got her a Net10 phone, that came with a wall charger, and free 300 minutes and 60 days of service for $30 dollars, so it was like I was paying for the phone and getting the minutes free. I noticed that she did very well with it, and ended up using her phone on many occasions because I love the outdoors and we take a lot of trips fishing and sight-seeing. Her coverage was actually better than my Sprint service, because she was able to get a signal and on my phone, I didnt even have a roaming signal. I was simply amazed of ...

Great rates for a prepaid company!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I like Net 10 i have used it on and off for a few years now. The cons are what Ill start with first. Well they have a very limited selection of phones. And unlike some other companys you cannot take a nother companys phone and use it for the Net 10 service. Second is that you talk for 10 seconds and get charged for a full minute. And my last complaint is that you only have like 20 computer sounding ringtones. They are not popular songs at all they are more like Bethoveen and Mozart type things. Now on to the good things about them. They make the most out of your minutes. You will be able to not have any fees 10  cent a minuite is all you are charged. UYou will never be charged overages or monthly fees. They also have several different plans. Well actuall cards. Yopu can do a 50 dollar unlimites 25 for 750 minutes or 30 for 300 its us to you in all i think this is great to get for your teenager or yourself!

Fantastic, Cheap & better service than a contract carrier

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have used NET10 on ana off since it was brached off of Tracfone. The pricing scheme is the best thing ever- .10 (10 cents) a minute or a txt. No fine print, no exceptions. Data has a low rate too, like 3 cents per KB.

The service runs off Verizon & Sprint towers, so the service is actually better than if you wern with Verizon alone. The phones are great, except the bargain $19.99 phone. Those always stink to high heaven.

You can add minutes and activate online! Their customer service leaves A LOT to be desired, all overseas. Do everything online and you will love NET10!

*BE ADVISED: any usage on the phone less than 1 minute IS DEDUCTED as 1 minute. Example: you butt-dial your friend and catch it 10 seconds in, they didn't even pick up yet. Thats 1 minute lost. Just be careful and mind your minutes!

The Case of the Disappearing Minutes

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I am not a heavy cell phone user, so I purchased the NET10 750 minute monthly plan ($25). Twenty minutes after loading my card, my minutes had dropped from 750 to 730 despite the fact that I had not used the phone during that time. After that I made it a point to check my minutes before and after every call. A 3 minute call which should have only deducted 3 minutes from my total instead cost me 5 minutes. NET10 could not provide any explanation for why I was being charged extra minutes or even why I was being charged minutes for times when the phone was not in use. They would not credit any minutes back to my account, so I told them to take a hike. If you are looking for something comparable...

If you have options, do not consider Net10 or their parent company Tracfone.

Should win award for CHEATING people!!!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I have been a NET10 customer since they started doing business, probably 6 years now. The plans are great. But I can't bring myself to say they have provide customer service. It's more like abuse, and outright THEFT! I upgraded my phone in June 2010 and had 657 minutes to transfer to the new phone. For some reason I couldn't upgrade online. Then the tech told me the minutes on my phone would take 24 to 72 hours to transfer. They never did. After numerous phone calls and emails I gave up. They'd promise the minutes would transfer in an hour. But they never showed up on my phone and I got tired of trying to talk to someone who can't speak or understand English enough to do the job correctly, except to CHEAT me of time paid for. They have great deals sometimes, but if they get the chance they'll steal your minutes. I'm hunting for a company that provides better service, including solving problems that happen.

I say 'Take the bad with the good'...I'm happy.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

First off let me say that I am very happy with the coverage of Net10. I've never had an issue with dropped calls anywhere I've been. I've been with 2 other major companies and get the same coverage service at half the cost. 750 minutes for 30 day $25. I was paying 3 times that amount with the other companies. Now on the down side. There phones are a little cheaper, and have heard the customer service is a little lacking. I have had 3 different Net10 phones, and now I use the LG 900g. It is a very nice phone for the $40 cost. I would recommend it.

I've read through all these comments and people complaining about the phones, and customer service but the way I see it is. If you have a problem ...

An excellent choice for prepaid wireless

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This is an excellent choice for someone looking for pre-paid wireless.  Right now, the first 3 times you add minutes to your phone you get 100 free minutes.  Minutes are always 10 cents and you have no roaming or long distance.  Text messages are only 5 cents.  Net 10 phones are CDMA which means that they use Verizon Wireless towers and anywhere Verizon is, (which is everywhere) you can have Net10.  If you purchase your phone online, there is a large selection of the newest phones and also a selection of cheaper phones for those who do not need all the bells and whistles.

You don't have a large selection of ringtones available to download but most if not all phones ...

Lies, Lies and More Lies

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

The sales staff at Net10 will tell you anything to sell a phone. During a recent purchase I was intentionally misled by Net10 sales. Before making my purchase I spoke with 3 different members of their sales staff, and they all told me the same thing. Once I received the phone I discovered the truth, the phone was not what I was asking for, and here is the sad part. When I called their customer service they then told me the truth, but they weren't interested in fixing the problem with their sales people. I believe this is their standard business practice, to sell you a phone that you don't want hoping that you will keep it. If you should decide to return the phone you are out the return shipping, and they get to collect interest on your money for a month or so.

RIP OFF

Overall

Customer service sucks. can't fix problems.Over two years still not working. When minutes are done, I'm done. If they get voice mail working, then mms picture is f-up, if they get mms pictures working voice mail won't work. The latest is, call us on land line so we can fix problem. Don't have one that's why I have cell, Duh. Charges for something you don't get. They even sent another sim card, same problem. The phone is a slider Motorola Model 326G. Don't waste your money and save tons of aggravation and Time on the phone. They don't even reimburst minutes for there screwed up service. I guess if you don't have a land line, your done. My first phone was a basic model just text which worked g...

The case of the stolen number!!!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Do not purchase a NET10 PHONE! You are better off with a contract service than dealing with them! I had my phone for 3 months then all of a sudden someone else had my cell phone number and I could not make or receive calls. Customer service (useless) was no help at all. They would hang up on me because they could not solve the problem or give me a new number. Even spoke to a supervisor (4th call) and she didn't know what she was talking about. The finally gave me a new # and it doesn't work because someone already has that number. HORRIBLE service and good luck trying to understand the person you are talking with. SCAM ARTIST.
