Bought the nest to replace our old thermostat. Was able to look up the youtube video and change it myself. Took all of 10 mins and love that we switched. Has a bunch of nice features to it and love that we can hook it up to our phones to turn it on before we come home.

Have had the nest for about two weeks now and really enjoy it. I ntice that the furnace doesn't run as much as it did before - with our older programmable thermostat. What i really like abut the nest is that it learns. I have set the thermostat up and down since installing and from day one it began to learn the household schedule - which is not the same from day to day. Being able to set the device in away or home mode remotely is awesome. On returning from a trip, I set the Nest to home and home was warmed up when we arrived.

I am a sucker for new gadgets and always had a guilty feeling that I was wasting money and energy by not programming my thermostats. So when I saw the beautiful Nest how could I resist? I bought four of them and chose to have the Nest Concierge service install them. I have to say, the service technician came within one day or me calling, he came exactly on time and he seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Truly shocking! I have found the thermostats very easy to use. I really like how easy it has been to control them from my iPhone, iPad and laptop. However, as far as I can tell they still rely on being turned up and down to "learn" from their owners. We are still not in the habit of doing that so I don't think we are really getting the full use. However, at the very least I am keeping two floors at lower temps than I used to. So at this point, they look good, they are easy to use, the service made them a breeze to install and everything seems to work. I am just not sure the learning part is really happening. UPDATE on 9/18/12 - I continue to be very happy with this product. I use my iPad and iPhone to adjust them temperature without even having to walk to different floors. We have saved energy and have really used the "away" settings when we are on vacation and when we land at the airport I can turn everything back on. No more coming home to a hot or cold house.

I was on a waiting list for months, paid handsomely for them and LOVE them absolutely! They are intuitive, wifi enabled, self updating, learning thermostats that are aware of outdoor weather conditions and QUICKLY figure out your routines. From there with intelligent engineering and clever programming, they are shaving my heating and cooling bills every month. I especially love that I can control them from my computer or smart phone. I can see information on the upstairs and downstairs that include temperature, humidity and temperature that the Nest is set to, also shows outdoor ambient temperature with icons for the specific weather too! They are also intelligent in that if you are away from your home, motion sensors built into them detect this and automatically put the thermostat in "Away" mode, only turning ion if the temperature goes beyond your own personally set range! If the price of admission won't scare you off, I STRONGLY suggest them! One last thing, they are conversation starters, as they look like no other thermostat and even sense when someone is close by by lighting up the display (this actually startled some of my friends!! lol).

It is amazing!!! The design is gorgeous and the ability to use Nest away from home is incredible. The Nest system gets to know your heating and cooling habits and will save you money in the long run. It is very easy to adjust the temperature on the dial or on your iPhone or iPad. How amazing!!

My husband purchased this thermostat. He Loves gadgets of all kinds...but we actually needed a new thermostat. It's amazing - and works as described. It really does 'learn', and so far has kept an even temp on the first floor.

My husband just installed this the other day. Very easy to install and operate. Love being able to adjust it from my smart phone. Great on those cold mornings you don't want to get out of bed, so you adjust the heat from your warm sheets.
