I had a horrible experience with neopets. I was a huge fan of theirs for a long, long, long, time. Did you ever notice how many warnings that there are about don't tell anyone your password, make sure that it says neopets.com and stuff like that? This is because so many people misuse this game. The last time that I had somebody fix my computer I had over 100 viruses in it. I only went to neopets, people. Then Neopets took away my account. WHY, you ask? Well I was offline for over a year and someone figured out my password. So my cute little pets, all four of them I can not play with. I tried talking to neopets like 100 times, they just don't care. This is not the first time that this has happened, someone got my password before and messed up my shop too. So I decided not to make a new account. I decided I didn't want to deal with the drama. So, if you play on neopets make sure that you have an excellent anti-virus, anti-spyware, & firewall on your computer.

Neopets cannot keep people from misusing the Internet. You should have anti-virus to begin with. If more people would take responsibility for their own behavior on the Web, fewer viruses would be spread around.

The reason they take away accounts that are hacked is precisely to keep people from misusing the site. You complain about misuse, but you also complain about them trying to stop it. What, exactly, do you want them to do?

As for passwords, using weak passwords is something that people need to stop doing. Do not use words from any language. Do not use your birthday. Do not use your pets' names. Learn how to create complex passwords, and you'll have fewer problems. Again, people need to take responsibility for knowing how to protect themselves online.

Being online anywhere is a gamble, you can get a virus from anywhere or be hacked just being connected to the Internet. Anyone that doesn't have the proper Anti-virus/spyware software and a good firewall is playiny Russian Roulette! ;)
