Okay, years ago I had a lady suggest I use a Neti Pot to rinse out my nasal passages for my stuffiness due to allergies. I brushed her off thinking it couldn't possibly help. After all, it's only a saline wash. Well, this past winter with the indoor dryness led me to trying to find something I could use without popping pills. I went into Amazon.com & found the NeilMed set that came with a squeese bottle & 100 pre mixed packets, ordered it, tried it & won't give it up. I usually use it about an hour after I've been up & I can finally breathe!!! I got a small pack & gave to my son who used it once after cleaning out his furnace but hasn't used it since. He can't seem to accept the idea of washing his nostrils out. Why Not? You brush your teeth, you wash your body & hair, people even take out their dentures & clean them so why wouldn't you was out your nostrils where all the smoke, dust, allergens, pet dander, etc. goes everytime you inhale. Wash it out before it lays there, gets into your sinuses, goes into a bacteria that you need antibiotics to clear up. Plus, the fact that you can breath easily afterwards increases your lung function. I haven't tried the neti pot as I find I like the squeeze bottle that is so easy to use. I was one that dragged my feet also but for about $12, why not try it....you may just like it.
