The Pensacola Naval aviators museum is wonderful. It is free but they do take donations.I have taken small children and older adults and everyone loves it.
There are real life models of airplanes to look at.You can actually climb into the cockpit of some of them. They are on the ground and hanging from the ceiling.A deck of a battleship is on the floor to let you know how it looks.
They have a simulator ride, actually two of them.Of course, they are not free but it is well worth paying to take a ride. One is upstairs near the front and the other is in the back.
I really love to go thru the POW display...
