Nature's Earth Feline Pine Cat Litter (Size: 7lb.) Review Summary

Feline Pine Cat Litter has mixed reviews from our members. Those who own multiple cats and who describe themselves as "willing to pay more for quality" like this environmentally-friendly litter because it contains natural ingredients, reduces odors, and is chemical-free. Other people who love their cats who are "picky about the litter box" are less enthusiastic about Feline Pine because their cats didn't like it and sometimes refused to use it. This litter is "more expensive than clay litter" and can be "difficult to scoop", but most cat owners agree that Feline Pine is worth the extra money and effort.

I have used Feline Pine ever since I got my 2 cats. Their foster home used Feline Pine, so they were already used to it.  I do mix it with Purina Yesterday's News litter - made from recycled newspapers.  I find that it absorbs a little better than Feline Pine alone, and comes in unscented… read full review »

This is a great cat litter for anyone who is environmentally aware and who has problems with other cat litters. For one, this litter does not kick up dust, it's dust free! It has a nice woody smell and not as strong an odor as traditional litters. The litter is a wood press pellet that is made from renewable Southern Yellow Pine. It is 100% natural (no chemicals!) and you won't have to worry about your pet cleaning themselves and ingesting toxic chemicals. The pine naturally neutralizes ammonia and the pellets fully absorbs liquid, keeps boxes drier and minimized chance of bacteria. And… read full review »

I have always leaned towards the more natural or organic methods when selecting things. That's why I was pretty pleased to see Feline Pine Cat Litter. I read the package and it claimed to be 100% natural pine. — — Well, it does contain 100% pine, but they have been rolled into pellet form which resembles hampster food. If you are looking for something that is 100 % natural, this is not the product to use. Chemicals are used to bind the pine which resembles saw dust before its gone through the rolling process. — — This product claims there is no tracking. HA! For some… read full review »

I decided to try feline pine cat litter and I am so happy with the results.  It doesn't have any of the dust like the clay litters which I really did not like.  It definentally feels as though it would be healthier for the cats and myself.  It smells really good.  I have two cats and both of them seem to like it.  I've been using it now for over a year and it has worked great.  I strongly recommend that you give it a try.  You won't be sorry. … read full review »

My cats actually really loved this litter. I had originally gotten it for my ferrets but found my cats were using it more!! I was shocked to say the least. I have been getting it ever since. — It's much easier to use than regular litter, it absorbs odors better and it's better for the environment! It's worth trying with your cats. Mine took right to it without me even attempting to try! — It's a great alternative to regular litter. I would highly recommend it. —… read full review »

Responsible pet owners need to care about the environment also---animals and people alike share this small planet. — Nature's Earth pine litter is worth the extra time required for breaking in the kitties to the different feel. — (and the garbagemen will love you for the lighter garbage bags at the curb that used to be filled with disgusting clay litter) — Absorbs the odors, no sticking to your shoes if spills out of the litter box. — Try it! —… read full review »

I got a bag of Nature's Earth Feline Pine Cat Litter as a sample from the manufacturer as a test package. I thought the fact that I could flush their waste into my septic tank where you have to dispose of their waste in clay litter is a core and makes for a mess anywere you dump it in your yard. — My indoor cats ((I have three indoor and three outdoor (that live in my work shop)) did not like the new litter! They did use it, but scattered it all over the bathroom and finally just refused to cover their waste. They tracked it out of the box and the odor left behind when they used it was… read full review »

We first used this product when my son purchased a ferret.  It did such a terrific job with the ferret's litter box that we decided to try it with our cats. — Anytime you change to a different cat litter you have to put the new litter in the litter box first and put the litter they are accustomed to on top.  We did that for about a month ~ maybe 6 weeks ~ each time we cleaned the litter box we used more of the new and less of the original until we were using only the Feline Pine.  We have had nothing but success with this product.  There is no ammonia smell from… read full review »

We started using Feline Pine after I'd read about it on the web.  We just have one cat, but the chemical smell of all the litters we had tried was gross.  I thought we just had to live with that until I found this.  Transitioning over took some time, and without the special litterbox, it was nearly useless.  So we did have to buy the sifting litterbox from Feline Pine (couldn't find in any local stores) and we really still need to get the matching scoop.  — But it is definitely worth it as there is no specific smell to the litterbox now.  It still needs to… read full review »

This was the worst cat litter I ever bought. I bought it cause it was only like $4 for a one month supply and thats pretty inexpensive cause I was paying $10 for regular clay litter and is a healthier alternative for me and my cats. They proclaimed that the cats would love it and there would be no smell whatsoever and that it was easy to sift. Well it was none of these things and my cats hated using it and I hated sifting it. Plus it reaked to high heaven. I have never had a cat litter smell as bad as this one. It didn't do a good job covering up the poop and urine smell as it made it worse.I… read full review »

— I've used this litter for over a year in a small-ish apartment with 2 cats that share a litter box. Cats seem happy with it and enjoy digging through it (the pellets make a lot of noise when swished around in the litter box). I really like that it's eco-friendly but not crazy-expensive, and it has a nice pine scent. You can "refresh" the scent by shaking the box a little. BUT I have found it somewhat inconvenient to clean up. The large pellets are hard to scoop--you end up throwing out a lot of clean pellets with the poop. There's no good way to remove urine. The pellets turn into… read full review »

Since my daughter introduced this product to me, I wouldn't go back to a clay product.  The difference is as clear as day and night. — The natural pine scent is pleasant, the clean-up is quick and the girls really like it.  There is little or no tracking.  It comes in bulk sizes and is a tremendous savings when compared to the quantity needed of a clay product to perform the same function.  Using just an inch to 1.5 inches is sufficient.  — I have two girls and they have their own boxes.  Now it appears that they have elected to… read full review »

Ok, my cat suddenly decided she wouldn't go in the litterbox.   Cat owner nightmare.  I began to try anything.  Multiple litterboxes.  Different types of litter boxs: big, small, hooded, etc...  Then I tackled the type of litter.  Tried different brands of clumping.  Then crystals. Then recycled paper pellets.  All were very frustrating because they cost more and nothing worked.  I then tried Feline Pine.  The great thing is that it smelled fantastic!  My house was beginning to reak, because of 'accidents' and now I would walk in to… read full review »

those clay litters made me sneeze- even when it was in the garage!  and of course they didn't do much at hiding the smell.  i love feline pine!  it smells great, doesn't have dust and tracks very little.  it is absolutely fantastic at hiding the smell of the cat box.  -and because of that i'm not changing the litter box as frequently (you still have to scoop the poo daily) no one even knows that we have a cat box in the bathroom now.  i don't worry about toxic chemicals and my pets or kids.  -and it is easy to flush the "presents" left for us. feline… read full review »
