On the recommendation of many of my friends who take vitamins and all the reading that I do...everything points to taking vitamin D. The problem with they are sooo big. Which is why I mostly like these they are smaller, they don't "melt" from traveling with me all day as I take them in the afternoon to spread out my vitamins. I tried about 5 before I found these and I'm no longer looking as I have found my vitamin!

After having my daughter about a year ago, my doctor about six months ago told me that my Vitamin D levels were low and I needed to keep them up as I head into my late twenties. Usually I get to spend a lot of time outside, especially Spring through Fall. Now that I have had the little one and the summer was miserably hot, I did not spend near enough time outside like I had my whole life. I also have lactose intolerance so mostly drank soy and rice milks, but that doesn't provide you with Vitamin D. I did some price comparisons between reliable brands that are higher quality. There are often good deals at the drugstores on Nature's Bounty so I picked up some Vitamin D from them. I make sure to take it every day. At my last checkup, the doctor says all my levels are normal again. The capsules are very easy to swallow and it makes me feel good to know that it's actually working and not a cheaply made vitamin that does not really absorb into your body like some other brands.

   I am menopausal, and got my vitamin D level checked on my co-workers advice. I work in a meat plant so am indoors for much of the time. The level was a very low 17 and the doctor I go to told me to take 4000 m. a day of a Vitamin D supplement. so I started to take them. What a shock! all vitamins are not created equal!      When  I tried other viamin D products and could not absorb them I was ready to give up.  Then I tried Nature's Bounty Vitamin D. It  is easily absorbable, and dosn't have any side effects like other products do. Others i have taken have caused loose stools, upset stomach, and increased my night sweats.     Nature's Bounty Vitamin D meets my needs very well, having different dosages that I can take as the level goes up or comes down. I get blood tests regularly to keep a close eye on this important vitamin level. I feel so much better, and my bone strength is improving. As an added benifit, I no longer have ahir that falls out by the handfulls, either. Thank You Nature's Bounty for having a superior product!

I was having a very difficult time over the winter with my depression, my doctor told me to start taking 2000 mg of vitamin D everyday, along with my other medications about a week and a half I was able to tell a difference in my mood, I have continued to take vitamin D, and find that my moods have improved very much.

This product is really good because it addresses my vitamin D deficiency and also my food allergies. This is free of gluten, dairy, corn, starches, and many, many allergens. Will continue to use this product. Another bonus: the stores around here often carry this as a BOGO special, so, more bang for the buck!

Have just found out that Vitamin D is a very important vitamin. Especially if you live in a darker zone where there is less sunlight. Check out Youtube about the new studies that scientist have discovered. Not just Nature's Bounty Vitamin D, but it is the one I choose. Actually the most vitamin D you can take the better off you will be. This size 1000, I would take 2 aday...

I have been a user of most of Nature's Bounty products since I first became health-conscious, and that was back in 1972. Lots of changes and additions (to the brand) since then, but, I have been faithful to the brand's name (though I do stray, when the price is right, or out of curiosity). I get annual checkups, and my last checkup in December of 2009 showed my vitamin D levels were below range. I surmised they became low, because, I don't actively or consistently consume dairy products.  Also, I drink quite a bit of Coke, and it does play havoc with calcium in your body; but, I am pleasantly addicted. Nevertheless, my doctor placed me on a therapeutic high dose of the D supplement for approximately 3-months. I achieved healthy levels.  What I need to share here is, I don't know of too many doctors (if any) who actually recommend vitamin supplements (including mine); but, when I asked my doctor what did she recommend that I do to keep my D levels normal, she said: `The dosage I prescribe is too potent and more than you actually need for maintenance; but, over-the-counter, if you can find Nature's Brand Vitamin D-1000, take that. It's the best, and I have my mom taking it, along with few other patients I recommended it to.' That's all the recommendation and assurance of brand name that I needed. Lastly, the price is right (for 120 soft gels), and you only consume `1' soft gel per day.
