I get 200 at a time since I have to take two a day. Before I started supplementing Vitamin D, I felt awful. I had a lot of little complaints that didn't add up to any one particular thing. I have noticed my energy level is higher, my mood is much better, and my overall health is better since I bean religiously taking Vitamin D as my doctor prescribed. However, I also take four prescription potassium pills a day, a thyroid medication twice a day, a vitamin supplement, another prescription medication twice a day and grape seed extract daily. THAT's a lot of pills to swallow! I don't have problems swallowing pills but I get so sick of it and the Vitamin D pills were not coated and could easily get stuck in my throat if I didn't have a lot of water with them. I found these soft gels and bought them and will never go back to the pills. These soft gels are tiny. They're smaller than BB's. At first, I couldn't believe that all I needed was inside a tiny, golden squishy ball but my blood tests reveal I am in the normal range for Vitamin D since switching so I am getting all that I need. It's very, very important to get enough of this sunshine drug especially is you live in an area that doesn't get a lot of sun or you don't go out in the sun without sunscreen on ever. I thought I was doing a GOOD thing for myself by shunning sun but I ended up with a deficiency that only the sun can rectify. Well, the sun and these supplements. Vitamin D works with calcium to make bones stronger, can ward off some cancers, keeps you strong, can elevate mood, and do many other things. More and more benefits of Vitamin D are being revealed all the time and most people do not get enough. There are several dosages of these soft gels and you may want to try a 1000IU one to start. Everyone should take that much, says my doctor who is a specialist in these things. I need more because I am deficient. Or was. It's not overpriced and I can find these soft gels in any drugstore or mass-market store. They're always on sale too which never hurts when you need as much as I do.
