Nature Valley - Granola nut clusters —

Nature Valley Granola Bars are probably one of my favorite snacks, so when I saw this new product from Nature Valley called Granola Nut Clusters, I was looking forward to trying them.

Finding Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters was easy.  They were stocked on the shelf just above the granola bars in my local grocery store.  I was shocked when I saw the price.  THEY ARE EXPENSIVE!  For a very small pouch (I think it was 5 ounces) I would have to pay almost $ 3.00.  I had a dollar off coupon, so I went ahead and bought it, but even with the coupon I thought the price was high.

When you open the pouch of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters, you'll find that it smells delicious.  My favorite granola bars are the Oat's & Honey, and I thought the aroma was similar to that.  The clusters resemble 1" balls, and in each one you can see the peanuts and oats combined together, held by what I believe is honey.  They taste very good, in fact, the taste is similar to the Munch N' Crunch snack, only not as sweet.

But is this really a healthy snack?  Well, due to the high fat and calorie contact, I'd have to say that this is not a snack you'd want to eat if you were trying to loose weight.  For a mere five clusters, you'll consume 7g of fat and 140 calories!  I can eat two entire bars of granola bars from Nature Valley and not consume that much fat!

The full nutritional content of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters includes:

Serving Size - 5 Clusters

  • Total Fat 7g
  • Total Calories 140
  • Calories from fat  60
  • Saturated Fat 1g
  • Trans Fat 0g
  • Cholesterol 0g
  • Sodium 160mg
  • Carbohydrates 15g
  • Dietary Fiber 1g
  • Sugars 8g
  • Protein 5g

There are several flavors available for you to choose from.  This review was based around the "Honey Roasted Peanut" flavor.  Other flavors available include Roasted Cashew, Nut Lovers, and Roasted Almond.

If you would like to try this product, visit the Nature Valley website to get your FREE SAMPLE today.  If I'm not mistaken, you'll also receive a coupon off your next purchase, as well.

Bottom Line -  While I do think that Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters taste very good, I won't buy them again.  The price is simply much too high for what you get, and the nutritional content is also just too high.  I will continue to enjoy my Nature Valley Granola Bars, as I have for many years.
