I take Nature Made Flax Seed Oil every day.

By

from Pennsylvania

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

I used to take fish oil pills every day until I heard the recent studies concerning how they can do more harm than good, so I switched to flax seed oil. I suffer from dry eye and need extra internal oils into my body and I found that the flax seed works just as well as the fish oil. It is also less expensive and has no fishy odors. I haven't noticed any benefit to my hair or nails as other reviewers have suggested but I only take one pill per day instead of the 2-3 recommended on the bottle. With supplements I always try to take the least possible does to get a desired outcome, and one per day does a great job of keeping my eyes moist and soothed. I've heard other people use this product for heart health and lowering cholesterol as well so I figure I"m getting extra health benefits as well. I feel much better using a natural product than using chemical eye drops or prescription medications.

A Healthy Supplement

By

from USA

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

Flax Seed Oil is really beneficial for a lot of reasons. It is high in Omegas 3's and if it has a high lignan content, it has other benefits, especially for women.

There has been a lot of debate about what the best Omega 3 sources are. Flax Seed oil is a good source, but it's not as high in Omega 3 as Fish oil, and that has caused some scrutiny. The thing is, many people are allergic to fish, and therefore, they are also allergic to fish oil. For these people, flax seed oil is a really good alternative.

Another problem with fish oil, is that it can often contain mercury. This poses danger to most people, and it is especially dangerous for people with metal allergies. This is yet another reason that flax seed oil is a good choice.

The Lignans in flaxseed are known to help reduce the symptoms of PMS, and and they are thought to minimize the risk of breast cancer, as well.

Nature Made Flax Seed Oil has been a good stand by for me when I can't go to the health food store and get another brand. It works well, and I can tell the difference between when I am using it, and when I am not.

Naturemade Products are the best

By

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

The Nature Made products are true to their quality in their products. These products are ones you can trust and count on really working. There is a brand that I can not find and that is the Gingko Biloba which is the best and found out it helps ringing in the ears.

Flax Seed Oil for Omega-3's

By

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

Flax seed oil is great for providing omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for heart health. Omega-3's have a lot of benefits, and are also great for your skin and nails. I find that when I take these regularly, my hair grows more quickly and any damage to my nails seems to repair quicker. My nails also grow faster, for that matter, as well as shinier and generally better looking. It also seems to provide some benefit to my skin, which is otherwise very prone to dryness and itchiness, and helps reduce those symptoms.

One of the nice things about taking flax seed oil over fish oil is that you don't get the fishy burps (I know you can buy enteric coated fish oil caplets but those are usually costlier). I'm not sure if these are vegetarian friendly, however - I am pretty sure the capsules are made from gelatin. If you want a vegetarian alternative, find a bottle of flaxseed oil not in a capsule, or look for a brand that doesn't have gelatin listed under the ingredients.

Brick and mortar pharmacies and the like often run specials on this brand where you can buy one and get another bottle free. I like to stock up during sales like this to be sure I don't run out. Thankfully these sales happen regularly where I live. Overall, this is a good brand but fairly interchangeable with other drug store varieties of flax seed oil capsules.

Flaxseed if you can't take fish oil

By

from Saint Paul, MN

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

Even when I freeze it, fish oil backs up on me and I don't like the idea of being exposed to mercury. I still want the fatty acids and flaxseed is great. Nature Made is a great buy at drugstores that have BOGO deals so be on the lookout. Oh yes and great for vegetarians too.

Nature Made Flaxseed Oil is Organic & Great Value for Money

By

from Yakima, WA

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

I like shopping locally and frequent local stores for Health related purchases like Nature Made Flaxseed Oil (Bricks & Mortar stores as they are called) because I'm able to take my time browsing, after deciding I can buy what I need, open it and use it immediately. Coupons in the local paper and BOGO specials at the grocer/drugstore for the Nature Made Brand make my purchasing decision even quicker.

I like that the Nature Made Brand is USP certified (look for the USP label on bottom right) which verifies supplements so that consumers can be confident that the bottles contain what the label says they do,and in the amount the label indicates. I buy Nature Made Flaxseed oil to supplement my intake of Omega 3 EFAs which are good for promoting heart health, lowering cholesterol, alleviates joint stress/strain or pains as an anti inflammatory, speeds healing of bruised or otherwise irritated skin. Fish oil and Krill oil are other products that are a good source of Omega 3 EFAs.

Helps keep my eczema in check

By

from La Jolla, CA

Comments about Nature Made Flax Seed Oil:

I sometimes get terrible eczema all over my skin and especially on my hands, triggered by some foods and most recently, by stress.  A few months ago, a nutritionist friend of mine kindly recommended taking a flaxseed oil supplement in hopes of alleviating my eczema.  It has been used for many years to ease eczema symptoms.

Since I was desperately itchy and willing to try almost anything, I purchased some Nature Made flaxseed oil from a drugstore and took one capsule every night.  Surely enough, my eczema started flaring up less frequently, and when it does happen to flare up, it is much less widespread than before.  I did once forget to take some capsules along with me on a trip, and wasn't able to take it for a couple days.  At the end of the trip, my eczema returned!  So in my case, I definitely have to be diligent and consistent about taking the flaxseed oil in order to reap the benefits.
