I have been a Nationwide customer for several years for both home and auto. My agent or one of his staff members is always available when I need help or advice, and claims have always been paid quickly and with little fuss. I have never done any price shopping or thought about changing providers because of the trust they have built up with me throughout the years.
In addition to the years of good service I have recieved from Nationwide; they further seperated themselves from the competition in my mind a couple of years ago. I live in south Mississippi and suffered damage to my home during hurricane Katrina. I heard horror stories about the way people were treated after the storm. My story was much different. I called Nationwide to place my claim as soon as I was able to get cellular service. The person who answered the phone was polite and seemed concerned about my situation. They took my claim and assured me that the adjuster would be by as soon as possible. I wasn't expecting to see the for several weeks (my damage was not nearly as bad as some of my neighbors), but they came by within the first week, and my claim check was delivered within the week. All of my neighbors had drawn out fights with their insurance providers, and Nationwide added two customers from my block just from my neighbors seeing how different my experience was.
