I have Nationwide insurance for my car and homeowner's policies and have been happy with them. When I switched insurance companies about a year ago, I called many companies and Nationwide offered the best rate on my car insurance by far. The people there have always been helpful and easy to work with. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with them recently. I have my insurance automatically debited from my bank account every month, and last month it took out over twice what my car insurance should be. When I called Nationwide, they said it a discount I was eligible for had not been applied and it should have been, so they fixed that. But they did not refund my money. They told me all they could do was refund the money over the next 6 months, so my insurance would be a little less every month. It was nearly $100 extra that they took out, all at once, but I had to get paid back in increments. Consequently, I am thinking of switching insurance companies now.
