Will the Naughties (2000-2009) be remembered as the decade when intellectualism became fun and hip – a backlash against the Go-Go Nineties and the Dum-Dum Eighties? The hit anime series R.O.D. (Read Or Die) is about superpowered agents of the British Library Special Forces. As the internet becomes commonplace, it’s being used most not for porn or games, but for reading and writing. Dan Brown’s pulpy but well researched thriller The Da Vinci Code, made into a hit Ron Howard/Tom Hanks movie, is a gigantic bestseller. And even our most popular stupid action spectacles, from demolition derbies...
read full review »We don't often go out to the movies, but I was so impressed with the first of these films that we decided to splurge, and we weren't disappointed. The story line was well thought out, and the cast portrayed characters that you actually cared about. My 19 year old and my 8 year old actually enjoyed a movie together. Usually you expect a sequel to be weaker than the original, but in this case, we are already wondering what they will come up for the next installment. Definitely was worth the ticket price and most certainly worth a rental fee, and I am sure that we will be viewing it again. ...
read full review »Very entertaining - keeps you guessing until the very end. Nick Cage is convincing. This is easily a movie you would want to own. Can easily watch over and over again.
what else can I say it's great
Credible economic analysts now say there is still a narrow window of time in which policymakers in the United States, Europe and Asia can avoid a meltdown over the next year by immediately coordinating the injection of real financial adrenaline to banks, companies, households and local governments -- not just rhetoric and indiscriminate spending. Yet that window is closing fast, and if the right...
read full review »My husband and I really enjoyed the first one, so we were glad to hear about the sequel. We took our four year old son (who has since turned five!) to see the second one, and he loved it too! He now wants to play "National Treasure Game" (a scavenger hunt!) around our house with his Daddy!
I really enjoyed both of these movies. As they are both similar overall, it's hard to separate them. In my opinion Nicolas Cage is at his best while doing comedy. His acting, and the whole storylines, made for a fun exciting adventure. As a Mom I especially appreciated the fact that they were CLEAN...
read full review »National Treasure is one of my favorite movies of all time. Nicholas Cage plays the perfect role of Benjamin Gates, a man in search of a treasure beyond all imagination. A suspenseful, action-packed and even comedic search for this treasure is sure to entertain everyone who watches the movie. It is a movie for all ages to watch and all ages will enjoy.
This Disney movie is an instant classic that will be viewed as one of the greats for a long time to come. A great plot and cast with unknown twists will have you guessing all the way until the very end of the movie. This is a great movie for history...
read full review »Good special effects, but the plot was too much like the first!! Different bad guys but basically the same from start, the chase and the finding of the treasure!!
I did like it though!! Very entertaining!! Glad I waited for the DVD though!! Awesome on Blu-Ray!!
I took my kids to see this movie last year. I enjoyed it so much that I couldn't wait for the DVD to come out! Nicolas Cage is great! The movie is full of adventure, comedy, twists and turns, and just good, old-fashioned fun.
