Nat King Cole - Re:Generations Review

That was one of MANY harsh words put in reviews of this CD and I thought could all those people be wrong?

Remixing anyone can be a tricky task but when approaching the great like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone, and many others you have to be VERY careful not to take away the true beauty of the originals. I have heard MANY remix efforts that should have never seen the light of day and after reading the reviews for this compilation I thought this cannot be good. Here is a time were I am glad I trusted my own judgment and gave this CD a shot and have zero regrets doing so. Throughout this whole CD the remixer's/producer's have taken the time to fuse today's modern ear and sound with a voice that cannot be compared. From start to finish you are treated to different and impressive takes a a few of MANY of Nat's greatest hits. Instead of long drawn out mixes the songs are kept short and to the point avoiding any moments of boredom!

In Closing:

While some view this as a crime I see it as a salute to one of music's true master's with a modern twist and a perfect soundtrack for the coming seasons!
