I love Nars matte lip pencils. They have great colors and are extremely easy to apply. Plus you technically have a lip liner and a lipstick all in one. The forbidden red color is just gorgeous. It is that movie star take me back to the golden days of hollywood type of red. But you have to love red lipstick in order to appreciate it as it is very dramatic. Now I would give this lip pencil 5 stars but there are 3 cons I have with it and all of the Nars velvet matte lip pencils. First of all it is very expensive. And I have no problem paying for quality but I expect quality to last a little longer. Secondly, you have to purchase a special Nars sharpener to sharpen your lip pencil. And lastly, the lip pencil is gone before you know it. I feel like you have to sharpen the pencil constantly until there is nothing left to sharpen and you still need to apply more color to your lips. And then to have to buy another one can get pretty costly. But other than that, I like this product alot.

I have been using lip pencils since I was in college.  I love them even though there are not as many colors to chose from as regular lipstick.  But I keep a variety of colors at all times.  I love to be able to sharpen them so that I have the necessary point that I need at all times.  You can buy the perfect sharpener to go with them as well.  They are so convenient to carry in your purse, in a pocket, in a backpack, in a notebook or anywhere because it is shaped like a pencil.  The product goes on smooth and lasts pretty good unless you are eating.  Then you will have to reapply.  You can use multiple colors at once like a darker color with a gold tint on top to dress it up or make it look sparkly.  Or you can put on a light color then line it with a darker color for an entirely different look.  Because of the point, it is easy to do this.  Because you can sharpen it, you never have to worry about it being too flat or break off.  You just sharpen until you run out of color.  Great price, especially if you watch for their sales.
