Naniwa is a few blocks from our office. I have been to lunch there 10+ times in the last year. In my opinion, it is the best Sushi in River North. That said, I have not been to Sushi Samba which is only a block away. We tried to go to Sushi Samba once and the service was so bad, we bailed.
The service at Naniwa is very good. I happen to think their Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll are among the best in the city. They dinning room is generally pretty quiet. It is not overly fancy or ornate, but very comfortable. The outdoor seating is OK, but leaves something to be desired. I find eating sushi that close to cars somehow does not work.
Naniwa is also a sister restaurant to Bob San which I have also written a review of.
Bottom line: the best sushi in RIver North.
