Most HelpfulThe Nalgene Wide Mouth bottle is a good addition to my ever growing water bottle collection, however, I am not so happy with the tendency for me to spill while drinking from it. I even purchased one of the inserts to allow for ease of drinking and though it helped, I still end up wearing water occasionally. ...
read full review »I have exclusively used the Nalgene brand Lexon bottles for years. Time after time, they are one of the most indispensable hiking items I carry. Most any quality backpack has a compartment made special for these bottles. Most water filters have adapters available that fit, sealed on top of the bottle when filling. And if you hike where I do and dropped your bottle, you're extremely thankful that it's Lexon. They just don't break even with most accidental abuse. They also have adapters for the top with a straw that screw on to make it easier to use while doing activities so you don't get water down...
read full review »Strong, Strong, STRONG! Lexan makes a product so durable, you don't ever have to worry about if it will break. Ten miles into a twenty mile hike, you'll never have to ask, "Well....what do I do now that I broke my water bottle?" with Lexan.
Also, Nalgene bottles have unlimited uses in the field. Anything that needs to be kept secure and waterproof can be stuffed into a Nalgene bottle: emergency supplies, maps, cash, bugs, wet clothes, cell phone. We even used one as a bobber while fishing once, just to see if it would work.

read full review »Nalgene WideMouth Lexan bottles are tough. They can take getting dropped, kicked, tossed on a long hike. They are easy to put ice into because of their wide mouths. They are easy to clip onto a backpack with a carabiner. They take hot water or cold water, which makes them handy for backpacking. They fit well on a variety of water purifiers for the backcountry. They don't puncture like soft side waterbottles. I take mine with me during most of my activities including trail running, hiking, and walking around town. I like that I don't have to buy water bottles that will go in the landfill.
nalgene water bottles are truly amazing! I know that they have a warning that if your bottle has a number 7 on it, it could be toxic. However, don't listen to them! The only way the toxins can come out of the plastics is if you put it in the dish washer a lot. So, you have nothing to fear. Anyway, the thing never breaks or cracks, not matter how hard it falls. So, if you are serious outdoors person, this bottle will be the perfect fit for you! Also, don't use any liquids but water in your bottle. Other liquids get into the plastic's pores, which is gross.
I use this bottle as a back up to my hydration pack. Once I drain the pack, I know I've got water to keep me going until my next refill. This bottle is indispensable and made of a quality that will last your life short of it being subjected to deliberate damage. What's more, unlike similar items by Camleback, Nalgene is made in the USA. Also a plus is the fact that the wide mouth mates perfectly with the MSR water filtration system. Simply twist the Nalgene bottle into the base of the MSR unit and you can pump pure water from most any source right into your bottle.
I love the nalgene bottle and all its forms. i have over 5 nalgene bottles, in many different forms and in many different colors. i also like the sippy lids because i just cant darn keep it in the bottle and somehow it ends up on my lap. i like the new nalgene with a smaller neck because it easily fits the mouth. I like how you can make your own color combinations and i also like the measurements on the side. i use these on my outdoor camping trips because i am a camp trip counselor to high peaks mountains and canoeing. we use them all the time.
