I have been trying to curtail my snacking habits a little bit by taking advantage of the 100-calorie packs that Nabisco has been making a bundle off of in grocery stores around the country.  While shopping recently, I picked up a new version that they were offering called the 100-Calorie Pack of Oreo Candy Bites.  They are sold in packs of 6 for about $3.00, this one coming with a total weight of 4.68 ounces.  Each of the packs is of course 100 calories, measuring in at 30 calories from fat and 3.5g of total fat.

Each of the packs contains probably 10 to 15 of the little bites, so you aren't really going to fill up on this snack, but I think that it's more than enough.  The little bites are split about evenly between chocolate coating with a white creamy-ish inside and chocolate insides with the white outsides.  They taste slightly different when you bite into them of course, but it is basically the same ingredients for each one of the little Oreo Candy Bites.  I would say that they are about the size of small marbles, or slightly smaller than Whoppers candy.

The taste of the Oreo Candy Bites is hard to relate or compare to another product, because it tastes a lot different than any other snack I have had.  I have to say that they do not really give off the taste of actually being Oreo's, and it doesn't even seem like they use the same ingredients to make these.  Maybe I have just had too many Oreo's over the years, but the taste is pretty evident, and it just isn't in these Oreo Candy Bites.  They do have a sweet taste to them, but its a tough taste to really get used to in my opinion.

The 100-Calorie Packs of these Oreo Candy Bites are interesting as a sweet snack if you are looking for one, but they aren't exactly what I would call one of my favorite treats.  I can definitely see someone getting a stomach ache from too many of these, so you will never have to worry about wanting more than one package, but I also find myself not as inclined to purchase another box of these as I am with many other snacks.  At best I have found the Oreo Candy Bites to be an average product, and while they might be tasty at times, I don't think I can give them a positive recommendation.

Now mini Oreo cookies would be awesome in 100 calorie packs...I wonder why they didn't go with a sure thing? I think I would be disappointed in these!

Cutting back on the snacks is tough...at least it always is for me. These things don't sound like they ease the pain much... thanks for the comments!
