I have never had nice nails, they have always been thin and very soft, to the point that when they began to grow they would never last. They didn't break, they were too soft, they would peal. I tried everything under the sun to make them stronger, gel tablets, polish, vitamins. Nothing worked. When a friend of mine whose nails are similar in weakness told me to try this NYC Clear Nail Hardener my first reaction was that I didn't really want to spend more money on something that wouldn't work. After thinking about it and then seeing a display with it at the store, I decided to give it a try. The first plus that I noted for this hardener was the price. It was not an expensive price, instead very reasonable. That in itself was a good reason to try it. It wasn't going to be a waste of a lot of money if it didn't give me the results that I hoped for. I applied two coats to my nails. I will admit, even the clear polish on my nubby nails improved the appearance of my hands. Having never had nails to pamper, I am used to throwing my hands into any situation that really isn't the best for nails. I garden, wash dishes, even help my husband with greasy jobs in the garage. This hardener seemed to hold up to whatever I put it up against. I did remain diligent with reapplying it occasionally and after about a week I began to notice that my nails were growing and they weren't nearly as weak as before. I still don't have long pretty nails, probably never will, but I am very pleased with the condition of my nails and how much better they look and I feel with the short length that I am able to maintain. I highly recommend this NYC Clear Nail Hardener! It is a good product for a good price.

I recently purchased the NYC Clear Nail Hardener to use as a topcoat and nail hardener product. With the first use I attempted to use it as a Nail Hardener on bare nails. I cleaned my nails as always before applying a product. The clear nail hardener remained tacky after 10 minutes of drying time. This concerned me. I allowed for another 10 minutes of dry time and finally the product was dry to touch. I was left with some flaws in the clear nail hardener that had been applied to my nails because of testing for tackiness at 10 and 15 minutes.  My next application was as a topcoat after using a NYC color polish. I let my color polish dry completely (about 20 minutes), then began to apply the NYC clear hardener. Immediately, the color began to tint the brush of the clear hardener. After clear coating all of my nails with the product, I began timing for dryness. I started with 10 minutes and eventually gave up at 20 minutes by removing the NYC color polish and clear hardener with remover. I love NYC color polishes, but was disappointed with the NYC clear hardener.

NYC has done it again with another great value priced product.  NYC Clear Nail Hardener is a very basic product with a great price that really works.  It's nice to get what you pay for.  This polish adds a nice shine and enhances the natural color of my nails.  It also helps to harden my nails and helps prevent those annoying little splits.  If you are looking to add a little shine to your nails and like a natural look without adding any colors this would be a great product to try.  It makes your hands looked cared for without the trendy colors. I think it also offers some protection to your nails, if you are like me and have your hands in water alot doing housework and cleaning.  NYC also has many coupon offers to make trying their products even more fun.  It's nice to find a great product at a great price that really works.  I think it could also be used as a top coat over colored polish but I like the look of this product just by itself.
