I get really chapped lips, so I always keep some sort of balm, gloss, or shimmer in my make-up arsenal. I saw the Nivea A Kiss of Shimmer tube on the shelf at my local drugstore, and I decided to pick it up. The tube was small, pink, and feminine, so it appealed to me. The product itself smells good, and has a hint of a vanillish taste to me. It does indeed go on smoothly, and it does last a while, but I agree with other posters; there isn't enough color or shimmer for me. I already naturally have a candy apple hue to my lips, but I had to add a gloss on top of the Nivea Shimmer to really make my lips stand out a little bit more. I do love how soft my lips felt after I first applied this Nivea product, and all in all, I would say that the good outweighs the bad. As a regular lip balm, I would recommend this product.

This is one of the best shimmers I have. First of all, I love the packaging. It comes in a nice little tube that has a cap that's never fallen off (so I don't have to deal with cleaning up any messes). Plus, it has a captivating fragrance, sort of like a mixture of roses and berries in the most appealing way. Now to the actual product's effectiveness...this lip shimmer adds moisture to your lips all the while giving your lips a luminous sheen, adding volume to your lips so it looks like you have fuller lips without getting any procedures done. It goes on lips smooth as butter and stays on lips for about an hour if you eat or drink anything, maybe two if you don't. It gives lips a nice, soft pink color with an added pearly sheen. This product is really nice because it doesn't dry out lips, it doesn't turn grainy after using it for a while, and it makes lips look all around better. For the price, it really gives great results, and is one of my favorite lip shimmers.

Light, pretty and tastes great. This is a great option instead of using a chap stick or a balm. It goes on smooth, has the moisture your looking for and has a hint of shimmer so it can be used in place of lipstick, especially when you don't have a mirror handy. It is wide stick and goes on big yet doesn't clump. It is just a light coat of moisture and shine. I like to use this as a base for lipstick, it really helps to lighten up a heavy color, it adds the shimmer factor. It also makes the lips look slightly plumper when used with lipstick, it is an optical illusion but is really effective. It doesn't melt easily in a hot bag. There is one drawback in the packaging, when you twist the balm up to use and then hold the stick by the bottom and use pressure to apply the balm twists itself right back into the tube. You need to hold the tube and the bottom in order to keep the balm up. It is a small thing but it is sort of annoying.

I have used many lip balms before, with varying degrees of success. Many have smelled of castor oil, many were just 'pretty' but didn't really soften my dry, chapped lips (in fact, they just seemed to make it worse), and many just didn't do anything at all. So, I picked up a little tube of Nivea's **A Kiss of Pearly Shimmer** lip balm and decided to give it a go. Firstly, I love that this doesn't smell of castor oil - it has a pleasing aroma, neither fruity nor sweet, that I can smell and doesn't bother me for the rest of the day. The texture is more smooth and silky than oily, and really glides on very well to lips. It doesn't leave behind a thick, gunky layer of goop on my mouth I have to eventually rub off because it is so irritating, and moisturizes for a very long time, not just twenty minutes. While some people might not like the soft, pearl-pink color of the balm, it won't make even us gals with pink lips (like myself) look like something from a zombie party - it really gives your lips this pretty opalescent glow that is beautiful to look at in the summertime and in the sunshine. If you don't care for the color all that much, just apply it first, and then put on your favorite lipstick or gloss - that's the perfect solution. It might be kind of expensive without coupons, but it's worth the money - it isn't like most run-of-the-mill chapsticks and really moisturizes. You don't have to reapply all the time, and plus, it's so light and airy, you sometimes forget you even put it on your lips. The tube is cute, stylish, and easy to store, and the application is so seamless. It's my new favorite, and I'll probably buy more in the future.

I bought a bunch of Nivea lip balms, including this A Touch of Shimmer kind, and I rarely use it. It has way too much sparkle and color for me. Not that I'm against color, this just has too light of a color, so it looks funny on my lips. And don't even think about using this if you have chapped lips. Because it is so light in color, it looks really funny, and your chapped lips will just look like they have clumpy nasty dried skin. As for moisture, it is definitely a lip balm, rather than a lip gloss, so it works well if you consider it a lip balm. It is a bit thick, but I think the texture overall is ok. I found that it faded really fast too, so if shimmer is your thing and you want to this product, you'll have to reapply it a lot.

I cannot stand for my lips to be bare. I suppose I have what most people would call a chapstick addiction, but I tend to bite my lips if I do not have some form of chapstick, lipgloss, or lip balm on my lips. I got this Nivea Kiss of Shimmer at a great price. I purchased it because of this and because I was interested to try out a product that could offer just a touch of color or shimmer while providing that chapstick feel. The product glides on smoothly and easily. It gives a nice slick feeling on the lips without feeling gunky like some other waxy chapsticks or balms can tend towards. I was pleased to find that this product does give just the barest hint of shimmer. If you are looking for a product with more color or more sparkle to it, I suggest passing over this product. For me, it is perfect because I like only the barest hint of color on my lips. My one disappointment is that this product is not very long lasting. I feel the need to reapply within an hour or so of my initial use. Overall, if you can get this at a low price, it is an average product.

NIVEA has an awesome line of lip care products but i think this is by far the best one out of them all! This gives your lips a shimmering experience while staying soft and moisteruzed! This product is also very inexpensive and is a great bargin. I think every girl should have this in their lip collection because it is an awesome find. It will leave your lips feeling soft and smooth with a hint of shimmer and sparkle. If you apply a gloss overtop of this product then you will achieve even better results. I would definalty recommend NIVEA A KIss of Shimmer Pearly Shimmer Lip Care to anyone of my friends or realitives because it is inexpensive, shimmering/shinning, and most of all moisturing for yor lips!

I did not know that Nivea started their own line on lipcare since I always associated Nivea with skin care. I had the chance to try this item since it was on sale at Rite Aid. There were many choices to select from but deciding to be daring I opted for the shimmer pearly one thinking it would be my lips a glossy look. What I didn't realize is that it gives your looks a Ghostly look. Yikes! I am afraid to wear this as it is too white and pastely. I wish that it the labels warned me in terms of choosing a flattering color for my lips. And on top of that at first application it leaves a tinglyness, sort of minty taste on lips which I don't like at all. I am afraid of what the tingleness is about and whether that is what it is supposed to do. I am highly disappointed and have no use for something that makes my lips feel uncomfortable. I am going back to my trusty Cherry Chapstick!

I'm a coupon nut, so when I found these on sale at my local Rite Aid, and I was able to pair it with a coupon from my Sunday paper I was excited. I ended up getting this product for free after the sale & coupon, so of course I wanted to try it. With that said, I tend to get chapped lips frequently, so I had high expectations. I figured the pearly shimmer would add a nice touch. The product works fine as a lip care item. On the other hand, i believe the added shimmer makes it a bit stcky and/or tacky feeling. The added pearly shimmer is a nice touch, though. I find myself having to reapply often, becasue the moisturizer in this balm doesn't last too long. With that said, I would say this item is just "ok." It'll do the job, but you have to reapply often, and it does have a sticky feeling...but hey, it was free. =]

I came across NIVEA's A Kiss of Shimmer Pearly Shimmer Lip Care product when I was couponing a couple of months ago. I saw a local drugstore of mine was having a sale on this product, and would make the product free when paired with the coupon. I had used Nivea body products in the past and had liked them, so I thought this one would be another I enjoyed. I could not have been more wrong. The product applied thick, and right away I was not fond of the color. It made my lips look like those of a porn star in a bad 1980's porno flick. The shimmer did not last very long, and was a hassle to re-apply constantly throughout the day. One big thing I noticed while using this product is its lack of ability to moisturize- a huge reason in why I use lip care products in the first place. Not to mention having to literally scrape off the previous layer of product application before adding a new one or else it would look thick and disgusting. I will not be recommending this product to anyone. Dry, thick, sticky and cheap looking lips are not for me.
