NIV Women of Faith Study Bible —

NIV Women of Faith
Study Bible
by Jean E. Syswerda

I saw the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible at a local religious bookstore. I wasn’t looking for a Bible, but this Bible caught my eye. I thumbed through the Bible and found it very interesting. I bought this Bible about 7 years ago and I love it! Not only was it a women’s study bible, but it was a New International Version (NIV). One of my favorite translations is the NIV.

About the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible~
The NIV Women of Faith Study Bible is a trusted guide filled with insight. It helps you connect with women of the past, present, and future. This Bible has been written specifically with today’s Christian woman in mind.

In the beginning pages, you will find a "Weekly Studies Index" that references the Old and New Testaments. These 52 studies explore key passages that reveal deep meaning and application for you as a woman today. There are over 1,700 study notes on the setting, meaning, and application of specific passages or themes.

It offers 80 full-page "Character Sketches" that profile women from the Bible. In each book, it highlights the actions of the women. It gives relevant background information, and lists all the women who occur in that book. There are over 200 quotes of women of the past and present from historic writers and poets like Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Patsy Clairmont, Barbara Johnson, Sheila Walsh, and Thelma Wells are among them. The other features include a timeline of women in the Bible, a genealogy of Jesus, a dictionary of biblical terms, a concordance, and color maps.

NIV Women of Faith Study Bible comes in hardcover and it has 2204 pages. You can order this Bible online at amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com, which will cost around $23.09 to $34.99 plus S&H.

My Viewpoint
I’ve found the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible to be very informative and enlightening. I love the study notes on the side of the Scriptures. It helps you learn as you read with easy to follow notes. It points out how women were treated and how it has affected our lives today. I love the character sketches of the women from each book of the Old and New Testaments. You can relate to how they were possibly feeling back then.

The NIV Women of Faith Study Bible is the best women’s themed study Bible that I’ve read or have come across. It is spiritually, emotionally, and mentally inspiring. This is a wonderful Bible for reading and studying. This study Bible is perfect for women who want to learn more from the Bible. There are useful side notes for most of the chapters that help one to understand and truly get to the meaning of God's word. This Bible has made my personal Bible study much more meaningful.

I highly recommend NIV Women of Faith Study Bible for women who like to have a women’s perspective concerning God’s will for their life. This Bible would be great for women who have or are involved with women ministries. I give it 5 stars!

I have several Bibles along with this one. I also have other study guides that go with this Bible that I haven't reviewed yet. As soon as I read and go through them, I'll review them. Thanks for reading and sending a comment! ;-) ~Krista Lynn

I really enjoyed writing the reviews on my Bibles. I know you will do fine with your Bible review. Sometimes it is hard for me to be brief. I look forward to reading your Bible review. You write longer reviews than I do so watch out to how many characters you type. hehe! ~Krista Lynn

Another good review and yet another way of sharing your faith. I am still working on my Bible and study guide reviews but how can you be brief with the Bible? I can't be brief with a horse review--hehe! ~Gigi
