    great rates on loans and deposits, low or no fees, helpful folks, nonprofit and no stockholders to please, member-owned, employees never paid on commission

Cons
    employees need higher base salaries

NC State Employee's Credit Union - Raleigh, NC — 

This is the best mix of cheap and effective financial services I've ever seen.  They're comprehensive (offer a lot) too.  You have to be eligible to join, but anyone with a family member who's ever been a member can get in.  This is the place to put and borrow your money!
