Very Drying

3

I have occasional bouts of acne and I adore the rest of Dr. Perricone's products so I decided to give his Skin Clear Acne Toner a try. I really liked the pump style bottle which helped me to portion the toner to avoid waste, rather just dumping some on a cotton pad like I do with cheap toners. The addition of Eucalyptus Leaf Oil made what could have been a typically unpleasantly scented toner smell quite nice. It wasn't overpowering at all, unlike the Tea Tree Oil that many brands like to use. Since I was already using several of Dr. Perricone's other products I wasn't sure how this would work into my routine. I used it mainly at night during the week or so that I did use it. Ultimately, I found this to be too drying and even in conjunction with a moisturizer it left my T-zone quite flaky. I was quite disappointed with this, but it may be a good option for you if you have super oily skin and really need something to get rid of the excess oil.

Helps clarify and tone skin--love it!

My skin is oily in the t-zone and acne prone along jawline, with occasional clogged pores on chin and nose. I have been using this product for more than a month as part of a skincare routine, and am loving it. After cleansing with Perricone treatment bar, I use two pumps on a cotton pad and run it over my entire face, focusing on problem areas. It does not make skin dry or tight, but balanced. I have noticed that my skin is less oily, more clear and my pores are smaller. The product barely has a scent to it, which I like. The bottle is high-quality and with using 2 pumps twice a day, I still have some left after one month. I have already purchased a second bottle for when I run out, because I found it on sale. The Perricone company has provided excellent customer service by answering any questions via email or on Facebook.

Greasy feel after using. Made acne worse, like it claims.

I've been using this for 2 weeks and I'm still undecided whether it is working. It has a slight fishy smell that I'm willing to overlook in order to get results, and it fades once it dries. I use this 2-3 days a week. It does not dry out my skin at all like every other toner I've ever used. It seems moisturizing, but makes my skin feel oily. I still have acne lesions, but hoping with a little more time, this will work for me. I have acne prone skin and have tried everything from oral antibiotics, Accutane, Rx strength topical gels and creams and mainstream brands like Proactiv. I'm really praying that my skin will turn around and that this isn't, in fact, contributing to my acne. Will write another review soon. UPDATE: I sent this and all other Perricone products back for a full refund, even after using 50% of it (within 30 day return period). I decided 2 weeks was too long to see my acne getting worse when it "should" have done the opposite. A Perricone skin care professional said there may be something in the products that my skin had an adverse/allergic reaction to. After using a 2% salycilic, 2% glycolic acid wash and MD Skincare Dr. Dennis Gross's All-Over Blemish Solution Salycilic Acid Acne Treatment Gel for 3 days, things are starting to dry and clear up. I was really worried for a while!!
