MyPoints —

    I have been with Mypoints for going on 5 years now and although it can be slow earning points it can be worthwhile. I have not made any purchases through Mypoints but I do click on all the emails I get.

    How it works

    You fill out a little questionnaire about your likes and shopping habits and they gear emails towards that. You get 5 points for 90% of them and some are worth 10 points. They will also send you survey links and those can be worth 20 points to upwards of 200 points or more. They also have a lot of stores where you can earn from 2 points to 5 points per dollar spent as long as you go through the Mypoints link.

    My experience

    As I said I never went for the points per dollar route as I only buy very select items online. Anything I may have to return for example, it is just a big hassle and I stay away from it. I have gotten many gift cards through Mypoints however. I have gotten $25 Walmart cards, Gas cards and Red Lobster cards. I even have gotten $25 off at Omaha Steaks a few times and they have excellent meats, although they are very pricey. But with my gift certificates from Mypoints they are no more than the grocery stores.

    I get an average of 5 to 8 emails a day most days and at least 1 survey a week form them. It takes me all of 30 seconds per email (you need to be on the clicked site for 30 seconds for the points to count. So after I click a site I read another email while the timer ticks down. I do read some of them as they are interesting but most get a click and thats it. The surveys can take from 5minutes to 25 minutes to complete depending on the subject.

    You won't get rich doing Mypoints but it is a nice reward after it's all said and done. Some of the surveys they give you are entertaining, some are a royal pain in the glutes...lol. But when you get something for free you can hardly complain now can you?

    Bottom Line

    If you're like me you like having extra money for special things even if it takes a while to get it. If you do a lot of shopping online for things then you can rack up points pretty fast on Mypoints. They even have car insurance point makers as well, so if you buy your car insurance online go through Mypoints and get extra points. In the time I have been with them I have gotten in excess of 45,000 points and thats just from emails and surveys..not bad for a few clicks a day huh?
