MyPoints Review

I have been a member of MyPoints.com since August of 2004 and have never been disappointed with the service that I have received.  The web site is easy to navigate, even for someone less familiar with the Internet. 

The site primarily works as an e-mail rewards program.  After registration, which includes surveys cataloguing your specific interests, you will begin receiving multiple e-mails from the site, on a daily basis.  The number of e-mails can vary from as few as two per day up to ten or more, depending upon the offers available.  Each e-mail will contain a link to the sponsoring company's web site.  For clicking on the link, you will normally receive five points.  Nothing further is required of you.  Once the window for that link is closed you need never go to the web site again, if you choose not to do so.  Your activity will only be recorded that one time by MyPoints.com, so that they can award you the five points due.  If you decide, however, to register on the linked site or purchase products from the site, additional points will be rewarded according to MyPoint.com's agreement with the site.  The terms of the additional points are always outlined in the e-mail, so that there will be no unwanted surprises in the end. 

MyPoints.com offers other promotional earning opportunities, as well, such as in-site contests, games, etc.  As these points accrue, the site will track them for you until you have earned enough to redeem them in the Rewards section.  Regarding the rewards, you will be amazed at what is available to you.  There are over 70 stores from which to choose your rewards, ranging from Amazon.com to JCPenney to Kmart to Walmart, etc., with gift cards ranging from as low as $10.00 to as much as $50.00. 

The only con that I have found with this site is that purchase points are not awarded immediately.  This is understandable, as the method of payment and reporting back to MyPoints.com from the vendor would need to be verified; however, it seems to me that the points are pended (or unusable) for longer than they might need to be.  This is a minor inconvenience, though, as the points will eventually credit to the account, most often within one month of the date earned.  Pending points only apply to purchases and surveys.  Any points earned from e-mail click-thru's are applied immediately. 

I highly recommend this site.  It is an easy and free way to earn rewards without spending a penny.  If, on the other hand, you are an Internet shopper, this is a great way to enhance those rewards by earning additional points for your purchases.
