My Top Picks for Your Trip to Hawaii —
My husband and I went to Hawaii in August 2007 for our 1 year anniversary and it was the best $ we have ever spent. Exspensive? Yes. Worth it? Definitely. We stayed 5 days in Waikiki right across from the beach and spent 4 days in Maui on Ka'anapali Beach. If you're going to Waikiki, here are some of the things we suggest you do!1. Go shopping on the "strip", enjoy the busy-ness of it all!
2. Snorkeling! - This was our favorite activity
3. Pearl Harbor - such a huge part of our history!
4. Tour of Honolulu - we had an amazing bus driver that was candid and informative!
5. Luau! - can't express this enough, we went to Germaine's Luau, pretty popular
In Maui (Oahu) we spent a full day driving the Road to Hana which was beautiful and fun and tiring all at once! Worth it though if you've got a rental car. Bring along a lunch and some cash to buy from the stands selling homemade banana bread along the way! We also went to a Luau in Maui. Mainly we spent time on the beach because it wasn't as crowded as Waikiki. We were on a private beach at the hotel we stayed in and it was beautiful.
We will definitely be going back!
