Mormon Tabernacle Choir - God Bless America

Mormon Tabernacle Choir - God Bless America
a music lover, loving this product

Well, another Fourth of July has "bit the dust" as they used to say in the old Western's.  The barbeques are over, likewise the fireworks, and the dogs have calmed down again.  Alas, the "A Capitol Fourth" concert broadcast from Washington is also a memory but as far as music is concerned, it is possible to get that Fourth of July feeling any day of the year by listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "God Bless America", a collection of 23 patriotic hits.  Even if you think you're not into the patriotic music thing, you will probably love this ... especially the opening shot… read full review »

Biblical Graffiti by Apologetix

Biblical Graffiti by Apologetix

Apologetix is an amazing band.  They are like the Weird Al Yankovicks of Christian Music.  They do parodies of popular secular songs.  Instead of changing the lyrics so that they are really weird, they change them so that they carry a Christian message.  — — For example, in their song I'm Gonna Feed (500 Mouths) (which is on the CD Adam Up), they parody The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be.  In the song instead of saying "When I wake up, well you know I'm gonna be", they sing "When I bake stuff with the dough I'm gonna knead".  Also their song Should I… read full review »

This one had me smacked right in the middle of the road ......at first. On the one hand you have one half of this Cd that provides you with some awesome and impressive takes on pop, dance, and r&b and the other a bunch of over radio'ed dance music that lacks spirit and soul.  On the upside you have the bottom beat heavy standout r&b thumper Funny that makes you thirst for more of it's kind of style and then there's the hot hot HOT dance number Get You Over that is so strong it does not ever need a remix applied to it. If that is not enough then ther's an up tempo-ed version of Funny… read full review »

Review of Alanis Morrisette - Flavors of Entanglement CD — — — I found this CD a little hard to listen to at first, but it does grow on you the more times you play it. — Alanis has grown-up musically in her new album entitled Flavors of Entanglement. — The transformation of the artist is self-evident in this new album of hers. Some people think of her as the rocker-chick but this album shows her diversity, depth and growth as an artist. — There are certainly a myriad of layers and "entanglement of flavors" which nourish one's cultural musical soul.… read full review »

When an artist is dropped from a major label usually one of two things happen....they thrive underground possibly on their own indie label OR they suffer in the KOCH wasteland putting out control mediocre music that is far below the talents. I was SO happy when the musical wire was buzzing with a new release by this artist that i have come to like but a fear followed that up when it was said that he no longer was singed to Virgin. Still though I held out hope and after a once over I walked away somewhat disappointed. Before I heard a  young man sing and make music with a certain passion… read full review »

I am a lucky dude sometimes.....I mean...it's SOOOO cool to meet your favorite artists in person and get a chance to honestly tell them minus the *STAR*ie eyed groupie hype that you appreciate their creativity, craft, and ability to produce quality music. You have entertainer's then you have ARTIST's and Mr. Roberson is one in every since of the word. The independent community is thriving with a robust bounty of artists that are doing music on their own terms instead of having the "million dollar babies" over their shoulder pimping them out to the music buying public. Soul/r&b music at it's best can be a wonderful thing! Believe it or not there are artists that don't need the gimmick's of Ciara, the "oh baby's" of Ashanti, and the pop, lock, & drop of Janet Jackson all of whom put out "okay", typical, and forgettable music. When you have an artist that expresses themselves with CONSISTENT heart, passion, and pure emotion you are certain to be throughly pleased and after all these years Lalah Hathaway, daughter of the late great Donny Hathaway, never disappoints! I fell under Lalah's spell quickly with her self titled… read full review »

Ok so Bitter Sweet World totally was totally worth my money.I think it's the best cd Ashlee has made so far.My favorite songs are "Outta my Head","Hot","Ruler Breaker","Ragdoll",and "Boys".Those are the more upbeat, fun, dancey songs but I also like "Little Miss Obsessive","Murder",and "No Time for Tears". — Like I think of it as a party cd,like "Hot" is so fun to dance to with your friends and have fun.And then I can relate to "Little Miss Obsessive" but it's still fun to sing along to. ; ) —  These 11 tracks of awesomeness get 5 stars!!  —… read full review »

While you can still sense the old Deftones sound, and emotion... the overall CD just lacked the Deftones 'touch'.  I found myself asking why I was still listening to the CD, it was boring and lacked their flair.  Truely disappointed in this album, but still recommend all of the other albums this band has produced, they are truely wonderful to listen to, and fantabulous live. —… read full review »

I watched the year that Kellie was on American Idol and I loved her personality. I was not much of a fan of her singing on the show. She was ok and I knew she wouldn't win. I recently purchased her CD on eBay and boy was I shocked. Song after song I was impressed not only with her singing but he writing abilities. She wrote all the songs. A lot of them are inspired by her life events which make them even more powerful. — As a fan of all good music. I rate Kellie Pickler's "Small Town Girl" a 10 out of 10. I find a lot of music CD's have a couple of good songs and some real humdingers.… read full review »

Stone Temple Pilots - Thank You

Stone Temple Pilots - Thank You

JUN

In my opinion Stone Temple Pilots was the best musical group of the 90's. Why not some up all the hard-hitting hits in one convenient package. Thank You includes all the great songs that everyone knows and loves. From their hardcore debut Core  with songs such as "Plush" and "Crackerman" to their more lighter songs such as "Sour Girl" and 'Interstate Love Song". An essential for all STP fans. — Tracks include: — "Vasoline" - 2:57 "Down" - 3:50 "Wicked Garden" - 4:07 "Big Empty" - 4:55 "Plush" - 5:13 "Big Bang Baby" - 3:24 "Creep" - 5:34 "Lady Picture Show" - 4:08… read full review »
