Beautiful, neurotic, hypochondriacal writer meets handsome, self-absorbed, boy-band has-been...that's how this movie starts out and I gotta tell ya, it's a formula for greatness!  Hugh Grant plays the aging 80's pop star Alex Fletcher who is asked to write a new song for a Britney Spears-type pop star...

One of the great misconceptions regarding movies is that guys don't like romantic comedies. Well, I'm a guy and I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy. In fact, if I were to compile a list of my 10 favorite movies, The Goodbye Girl would be on it and a few other romantic comedies would be contenders,...

i really loved it. it had such great music and romance it was just an over all great movie! hugh grant is really great in this movie i typically don't like him but he was somewhat charming. Drew berrymore is another actress that i dislike but found her interesting in this movie. i really do love the soundtrack the day after i saw it i had to go out and buy it. anyone who is a child of the eighties will love it!

i have to say when it comes to movies with either drew barrymore or Hugh grant i don't typically shout for joy when one of their movies comes out. But I actually saw this movie one day and I was blow away!! It is the best movie ever. It's very clever and funny and a great love story. If anything, watch the first 5 minutes. You will laugh your butt off. I would totally recommend this to anyone I come across.

I absolutely loved this movie.  My husband went with me and I thought he would hate it, but he didn't.  He laughed out loud at a number of parts.  Hugh Grant does a great job of playing someone that you would expect him to play, but that's what's so great.  I though Drew was really good as well.  The movie just doesn't get old!

This movie was great, even though i am not really into the romantic type movies. It had a splash of romance, a dash of cuteness, and a pinch of comedy. Its so great it was like it was cooking up some big gourmet mela or something. i would recommend people to go and rent this movie.

Loved this movie.  Drew is adorable, and any movie she makes is worth watching.  However, she was upstaged by whats-his-face, as his ability to sing chessy 80s tunes was fantastic.
