I think for me it's "run around sue", "brown eyed girl" and "johnny angel". I listen to alot of oldies but tend to forget the singer or the band that created the song.

I like Nights in White Satin, Key Largo and Old Time Rock n Roll.

Ask me again tomorrow and I may choose different ones- I love them all.

It depends on how old you mean by oldies.

I love "Mack the Knife" by anyone who sang it back in the day. I love Frank SInatra's "My Way" and "New York, New York" and I love Don Williams;" I Believe in You".

I really like Dr, Hook's stuff but don't consider them oldies really although they ARE old. "Sylvia's Mother", "Cover of the Rolling Stone", and "Freakers Ball" are always fun to listen to.

One of my other faves is "Cry to Me" which is really old but reprised in Dirty Dancing (which actually is really old now too).

Now *I* feel old. lol.

Both Cover of the Rolling Stone and Sylvia's Mother were written by author and poet Shel Silverstein. Dr. Hook was the musical act that performed them and had hits with them, but the credit for the songs really belongs to Silverstein. Good songs.

There's no way I can pick three favorite songs. I love hearing Stars and Stripes Forever and The Washington Post, both great John Phillip Sousa songs. And the Beatles' A Day in the Life still gives me chills. The radio gets turned up anytime I hear Satisfaction, Proud Mary, Superstition, and many many others.

"If" (a picture paints a thousand words...) by Bread, also by Olivia Newton John. "You've Got A friend" by James Taylor. "If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot.
