What 5 songs get you through your day. You know.....those songs that give your day that special boost or puts that extra pep in your step. While I have a favorite play-list of about 60 on my Ipod there are five that ALWAYS get the repeat treatment......here goes:

  1. The Forgien Exchange / Take Off The Blues (This song has such a smooth and razor sharp flow that demands repeated listens)
  2. Natalie Williams / Butterfly (Like the above this song also has an effortless flow that takes the breath away and is the perfect pickmeup)
  3. Catch A Leaf / Recloose (Imagine walking out the door looking and smelling your best ears plugged in ready to start the day.....this would be my start song)
  4. Marvin Gaye / Mercy Mercy Me (What can I say about a song so timeless and defines the term MASTERPIECE)
  5. Peter Gun / Sarah Vaughn (The song doesn't even clock in @ 2Min's. but in it's short time it builds like a true work of art)

Hmmm... I am so moody Gitbean that it varies but here are some of my favorites for getting the house clean...

Lyle Lovett-  Cowboy Man, Stand by Your Man

Annie Lennox-Take Me to the River

Delbert McClinton- all songs, any album

Marcia Ball- Such A Good Man, whole Dreams Come True Album really

Of course I end up listening to a lot of Veggie Tales & Raffi at my house too since I am no longer the stereo queen in  my palace but this is my line up to get me through floors & windows.

I listen to a lot of stuff, but today I sought out the following songs on YouTube:

Elvis Costello, "She" (that's the song from the movie "Notting Hill")

Corrs, "Breathless"

Rob Thomas/Santana, "Smooth"

Eagles, "Already Gone"

Expose, "I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me"

Tomorrow it will be something else, I'm sure.

Well Git  - you always give me good info, so I'll try to capture a day (which may be a whole new day tomorrrow):

Top 5 Songs (for today anyway):

1. Dance Upon this Earth by the Burns Sisters - Has anyone else in the world heard this song besides me? OK. Well, I'm gonna . . . "find the joy in all this madness."

2. Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC - I don't care if it's old, it's hot, hot, hot. You know it is. American thighs are a good thing.

3. I'll Fly Away (gospel) esp in bluegrass - It does help that I can actually carry the tune to this song - even the alto.

4. Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf - It's a story song, but I sure did love dancing on the coffee table to this one back in the day.

5. Chevy Van - I like the Sammy Johns version but the Bread version is cool too.

  1. Roadhouse Blues - The Doors
  2. Vehicle - The Ides of March
  3. The Motown Song - Rod Stewart
  4. One Fine Morning - Lighthouse
  5. Take Five - The Dave Brubeck Quartet

That's the top 5 for today.  As CyndiA pointed out...it may change tomorrow.  Always toss in some Beatles somewhere in the top 10...and Clapton too.
