On a lighter note! :) I don't know about the rest of you, but I love to listen to music, LOUD, as I drive around in my Ranger. I have a 6-CD changer JUST for that purpose. I don't subscribe to satellite radio because I want more control over what I hear blaring from my speakers and I listen to over-the-air radio only often enough to hear new music because there is too much talk and too many commercials. So, the little laser thingy in my CD player generally works overtime. Do you listen to a lot of music in your vehicle? If so, what's playing in your car/truck/Hummer right now? Here's what is in mine
1. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road-Elton John (disc 1, 30th anniversary edition remaster)- Elton has always been THE man in my book. I just ignore the fact he's also THE queen....The first song "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" is perfect for summer driving with the windows rolled down and the speakers blasting.
2. Great 80's- a CD mix I made of 80's music. I reviewed it here....go. read it!! :)
3. Revelation-Third Day: Just great Christian-themed rock
4. Sugarland-Love on the Inside/Deluxe Edition- One of my very favorite songs to listen to right now (this changes frequently) is a cut from this CD. "What I'd Give"- has a long guitar based riff at the end that reminds me of some good sumpin' from Lee Roy Parnell or Keith Urban.
5. Rock N' Soul Pt 1- A CD mix I made of good 70's R&B interlaced with good ole' 70's rock. Muh growed up years right thar.
6. Lay It Down-Al Green- I bought this the day it was released in late May of this year and I think it has remained in my CD player even as I've cycled out all the other cds several times. Right now, this gets my vote for album of the year.

IF I were to bring 6 CDs into the car they'd probably be from movies (like Forest Gump) because then I get a smattering of songs and I have quite a few of those. Hmm...a list??

truthfully if I've got 6 CD's in the car with me... they aren't music ones they are either self-improvement or leadership CD's.
Radio wise it could range from country, classic rock, top 40's, christian or retro. Pretty much anything but R&B rap type stuff. Just depends on the mood.

I'm a big station flipper and now that we have Sirius Satellite Radio in the car, I'm loving that. I usually keep it on the current hits station but occasionally like something different like easy listening or country. What I listen to depends on how loud my kids are being in the car too.
Lately I've been mostly listening to our local talk radio station. If you're not familiar with the Detroit area, we have a major scandal going on with our mayor. I love listening to all the news about him, especially comments from the local citizens and business people.
I also enjoy listening to Mark Levin. His demeanor and rudeness to clueless people crack me up. My husband thinks I'm crazy for listening to him but he makes me laugh.

I just got home from a week-long driving vacation and we mostly had a recorded book in the CD player. The book,
In the Company of Soldiers, was okay but not nearly as good as I had hoped. The only music CD we listened to was a recent one from the political satire group, the Capitol Steps. You can get a little taste of the Capitol Steps with a little video clip I uploaded to YouTube at this URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci4pHK4tJok
Considering I play guitar and sing, I listen to very little music in the car. Its almost always recorded books.

I love so many songs from 80's and some techno to pop and rock. Lately, I am listening to songs from "The Cheetah Girls: One World" soundtrack. But if you could see my playlist, you'd see I have different kinds of music. lol :)

Over the years, I have downloaded hundreds and hundreds of songs then burn them as mp3s onto a disk. I have 3 cds in my car right now. They are mostly "oldies" (from the 50's and 60's) and some old country songs. I should have been born earlier because I would have loved doing the jitterbug growning up....the Beatles really never did anything for me.

I absolutely love to get down on the dance floor. It's a huge release for me and I have been told that I'm a really good dancer. Generally, the type of music that makes me shake my groove thang is old-school pop, rap, and r&b from the 80's and 90's. But the CD I have in my car is the antithesis of all that: KISS Unplugged!

I love music. I sing at local events and church and I do classical ballet so music is a BIG part of my life.
Since Brannigan passed away I haven't quit listening to Mark Harris' CD: The Line Between the Two. If you are familiar with contemporary Christian music; he was the lead singer for the group 4-Him and then went solo. I will try to do a review on the CD this weekend.

Thanks for the compliment on my singing--it's only by the grace of God that I can sing as well as I do and I like to think that a lot of it is because I use music to glorify Him. Please pray that I can get through the performance next month at the children's home. Brannigan was supposed to come and see me perform. The only time he ever heard me sing was the few times he visited church with me and we did the congregational songs and the times when us dancers were being silly during practices; especially after we all saw the Hannah Montana movie.

I own more than 200 CDs, but I find that I usually keep the same ones in my car for listening purposes. I change them out every now and then, but the artists I listen to most while cruising are the Rolling Stones, Guided by Voices, Allman Brothers, J. Geils Band, Buddy Guy, and Bob Marley.

I have 4 binders with 100 CDs each in them in the truck, but, like Bryan, I tend to listen to most of the same few. I LOVE my mix CDs.

I also have over 300 CDs but I tend to take my own by selecting my favorite tracks from CDs and putting them onto a blank CD. That's what I did when I gave Krista the CDs the other week.
Mike is my musical muse here at Viewpoints. I think he and I are the ones that do a lot of the music reviews.
