We all have a song that when played you want to smash whatever is procuding it's sound.

For me....HAND'S DOWN it would have to be Who Let The Dog's Out....drove me crazy then and still makes my skin crawl (LOL)!

Almost anything by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) will get me to turn off the radio. And there's a song by Mariah Carey where she really screeches... ugh!

The Dogs one actually makes me laugh :)  Probably b/c I have heard a lot of humourous variations of it.

I can't stand that Katie Perry song - I kissed a girl... mostly b/c it gets stuck in my head and it's the last thing I want to be singing out loud!

Other than that, I mostly listen to only one station and I like almost every other song they play.

Haha, this is a funny question.  There are PLENTY of tunes that I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard than listen to them.  Pretty much anything from Beyonce will make me keel over.  And I agree w/ gitbean....the Baha Men's "Who Let The Dogs Out" is so bad!  "Lost Without You" by Robin Thicke is another one that makes me throw up a lil in my mouth, LOL.

What?!  Oh my god, "I kissed a girl" is a GREAT song!  Now that other one she sings..."Hot 'n Cold."  That song has such an obnosxious beat!  I can't stand that song.

Hi all *waves*

Agree w/ gitbean. Who Let The Dogs Out better not have the audacity to let them back in. LOL

And. This one's not really a *song*, but the Free Credit Report Dot Com ditties make me nuts!

Okay, I'm a music teacher, and I'll admit I have very strong prejudices after hearing some music performed hundreds of times (most of those times not very well).
For classical?  "Fur Elise" (you've all heard it even if you don't recognize the name).  For Irish?  It's a tie!   "Danny Boy" and "Too-ra-loo-ra-loora".  For Christmas?  "Here Comes Santa Claus".  From Broadway?  "Tomorrow" from Annie makes me gag.
  Alas, there are more.

Is there anybody out there, by Pink Floyd.  That song makes me feel like I'm going insane!!  There's another one that plays carnival music in the background that is just awful, but I don't know the name of it.

I have to admit that I just don't "get" Pink Floyd. "The Wall" is an okay song, if rather mindlessly repetitious. And the guys are excellent musicians. But the group's music is just so pretentious and frat-boy arty that I don't connect with it. I know Pink Floyd has legions of fans and lots of good reviews, but I just don't get it.

I've got you all beat on this one....How about "My heart will go on" from Titanic?  I love the movie, but I think we can all agree tat Celine Dion's music is a tad overrated.  Plus, that has got to be one the most overplayed song of the 1990's!

A few of mine would have to be, "Don't Cha" by The Pussycat Dolls and "You Make it Hard to be Faithful (with The Lips of and Angel)" I'm not sure who sings that one, it's done by a rocker and a country singer. Songs like that make me so mad because I think it encourages cheating behavior! It angers me that musicians are writing songs for mistresses! There's a few more ot there. I know one is by Usher, and while I like most of his music and I think he's talented, songs about cheating are just plain wrong in my opinion!

Yes!  Yes.  This one IS a stinker.  It's the overplaying that wears most of us down eventually.

I think my cuz is right about the overplaying factor.  Believe it or not, I reached the point where I couldn't stand the sound of "Silent Night" just because it had been worn to submission and over-performed (and not always well).

I became rather vocal about my feelings about this song but the potential of the human mind should never be under-rated (even mine!)  One night I dreamt that someone was leading me by the hand in the dark into our church and there in the dark was an unseen choir who sang such a beautiful rendition of this old favorite that BINGO, I liked it again!

As Moses probably said when he told someone about the Burning Bush:

GO FIGURE!

Will I ever forget one of my earliest piano recitals when we were each supposed to walk over to the piano, turn to the audience, annouce what we were going to play? For my own performance, I was supposed to render a not-so-classic opus entitled "Swaying Silver Birches."  Unknown to my teacher, my mischievous mother had gotten into the habit of calling this "Swaying Silver BRITCHES!"  And that's just what I ended up calling it too on the big day of the recital!

Someone actually sat down and wrote these songs!

Do Da Stanky Leg!  Chicken Noodle Soup!.  Superman!...  ay bay bay!  These four  are so mind blowing creative and artistic, I don't have the vocabulary to explain why I  hate them.

U2 - "Still haven't found what I'm looking for"

I loathe that song. Back in '87 I was working in a warehouse as an all around grunt laborer/forklift op./painter type dude and there was a group of ladies that were reconditioning office partition panels on one side of the warehouse space. They always had their radio turned up and tuned in to the pop station. At least once an hour they would play this U2 song (along with some ghastly Mariah Carey song that I can't remember - probably because I've blocked that horrifying experience from my memory).  I spent 4 months working here. I had to listen to that song 8 times a day 5 days a week for 16 weeks. That's 640 times in 4 months. I'll be quite happy if I never hear it again.

On a side note, one of the delivery trucks that dropped off some product for us there had several large crates up towards the front marked "Pink Floyd - Laser" and they were on their way to Seattle, I think it was. I was sorely tempted to run the fork lift up and snag one or two of those crates and load em up in my van, but they wouldn't have fit...... d;-)

Kelly Sweet's cover of "Dream On" makes me seriously contemplate putting a bullet in my own head rather than listen to that crap ONE.  MORE. TIME!!!  How about "She Bangs" by Ricky Martin.. Holy Crap!!!!  Oh!  Oh! Bobby McFarin.."Don't Worry. Be Happy."   ooooh...oooh-oooh-uuuh-uuh-uuhh...YEW!!!!!!!

U2 has some equally amazing AND disasterous songs in their playlist.  "Where The Streets Have No Name" is a pretty hideous selection.

Now that I think about it, I thought Faith Hill's version of Janis Joplin's classic Piece of My Heart was laughably awful.
