After graduating high school, I decided I was too good to go to a local college, so I moved to Louisville. I attended a very expensive private college there, and after 2 years moved back and transferred to MSU. I have to say that for the money, MSU is an excellent school. I would further say that I wish I didn't have such a big head and cost myself so much unneeded tuition money. I should have just went to MSU.
It's hard to believe, but my daughter is going to continue the tradition of Murray State University this fall. She is the third generation to attend Murray State and she is very excited! Both my husband and I had a fantastic experience at Murray and we both got a top notch education. We have 2 other family members that continued their education after Murray at medical school and both have very successful practices now! I've had job opportunities presented just because of where I had obtained my degrees. Not only did I complete my undergraduate degree, but after taking a semester off,...
read full review »I chose Murray State University because I had friends that attended and were very pleased. MSU is a very close campus, not spread out everywhere which I really liked. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. I felt very safe on campus and there is a low crime problem. I do not drink so I did not have a problem with the town being "moist." I has had wonderful reviews and been rate as a very good school for people going into to education. I am a special education teacher who teaches the primary level. Murray is a wonderful school. Murray State University has great professors. All of my professors have been very helpful to me. I got my undergraduate degree, my Masters degree and am now working on my Rank I at Murray State. The Rank I is thirty hours above your Masters degree. The classes are reasonably...

I had reservations about attending college in my hometown, but ultimately it was a great experience. Small class sizes. Personal attention. Experienced faculty. You will get a great education at Murray State University. It has a beautiful campus and is still small enough that you can really get to know most of the people you are attending school with.
From a cons perspective, it is a smaller school, so attendance and enthusiasm for the sports program is not that high. The college is located in a dry county and Greek life really took a turn for the worse while I was there. Overall a lack of enthusiasm...
