Best Bath Toy!

5

Our Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky is by far G's favorite bath time toy. He has put his ducky in his mouth, thrown it across the bathroom, dunked it underwater, and it has survived all. After a few months, some other rubber ducks will start to spring a leak, however we have yet to have that issue with the Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky. In addition, the facial feathers have not faded or chipped, even after continued bath time use. Not only is the Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky a child's favorite toy, it is a parents toy as well. The indicator on the bottom lets you know whether the water is too hot or too cold. I feel comfortable with other adults giving G a bath knowing that we have the Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky in our bath tub. The Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky can be found at most retailers. I highly suggest that you go out and get yourself and your little one a new bath time favorite toy.

Munchkin Ducky

5

I bought two of these Munchkins ducks for my baby. Whenever I filled his tub with the right amount of water, I would place the yellow ducks on top of the water for him. These ducks floats, making it fun for my little one. Every time I took him for a bath, I would first, gently put him to sit in his bath tub and then allow him to play with his ducks in the water. Top reminder, supervision is a must and is very important to do while child is in the tub. Never leave your baby to play with these ducks by himself. It doesn't matter how safe a product is, still monitor him for the whole time he is playing with the ducks because anything could go wrong. Remember, he is still a baby. My child would hold these ducks and move them around in the water as if he is making them dive and then allowed them to float back up to the surface of the water. He would always give his ducks a bath by holding them in one hand and used the other for dipping up the soapy water to wash his little duck. The Munchkin ducky can make bath time fun for you and your baby. These cute ducks can be bought online and in stores.

not bad

I used one of these briefly, till my the kids lost it somehow. It is pretty accurate. It always show too hot if the water was very warm. I never had any problems with it not showing when the water was hot. But I would recommend always cooling the water if you feel its to hot and the duck is not showing too hot.

duck doesn't work

1

I really dislike giving bad reviews on here, but I have to be honest. This duck doesn't work.  After a week or 2 of never having my baby's bath water turn the duck a different color, I decided to test this ducky out!  I went to the sink and ran hot water. When the duck had had time to float in the water I picked it up and there was no change.  I put it in for a longer time and again the duck had no change.  The water I had it in was HOT! It was definitely hotter than I would ever consider putting my child in.  This little safety item was an absolute waste of money. The only thing Safety Bath Duckyis good for is as a simple tub toy and chew toy for sweet little ones. The duck is squishy like a classic bathtime duck toy so if you buy this, then plan on using it as a tub toy only. Do not depend on it to tell you if your child's bath water is too hot.  This is a good idea. Hopefully, Munchkin or another company will work on improving this item.

Safety duck was useless for its intended use

We were given this as a gift (probably a re-gift). The intent is that if the water is too hot that a white "hot" will show up on the bottom of the duck indicating that the water is too warm for baby to use. This however was not our experience. It seems like the "hot" on the bottom of the duck shows up even in normal temperatures. You can always see the word "hot", even when it is dry, it just gets darker with any water that is in the comfortable or hot range. I think it would be better used for when the water is too cold. The duck is make of a hard, yet squeezable plasic with a hard piece of plastic on the bottom with the word "hot". One bonus of this toy is that it does make a cute and good bath toy. We have had to dispose of many of our bath toys that squirt bath water because they are breeding grounds for growth. If you didn't know that, you should find one that has been in use for over 2 months and cut it open... you will be surprised how gross it is. The fact that the insides of this "toy" are sealed is a redeeming quailty of the item, just not its intended quality.

These ducks are quite cute, but don't tell temperature for long

My friends and family threw me a theme based baby shower that was all about ducks. Because of this I received several of the munchkin temperature ducks. I was so happy to get them because they were all in different clothing or were different colors and I knew this would make bathtime with my daughter so much fun. I was right because she loves her duckies and will not take a bath without them. We used them every time we gave our daughter a bath. At first they were great, but after a couple of months, the word HOT on the bottom stopped working. This didn't just happen to one or two, but to all of them at the same time. I would only recommend them as a toy just for the fact that they are so cute, but would never recommend them for temperature accuracy. The best way to test the water (and this is what our doctor told us to do) is to dip your elbow into the bath water before putting your baby into the tub or sink.

Don't rely on this duck to warn you if the water is too hot.

The **Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky **is a small rubber duck that has a patented "White Hot" safety disc on the bottom of the duck.  The bottom of the rubber duck is normally blue, but when you put the duck in bath water that is too hot, the word HOT *should* appear in white letters inside the blue disc.  I wouldn't have purchased this myself, but I received it as a gift for my son, so I decided to use it.  I always thought that I would be able to tell if water is too hot just by feeling it myself.  However, after having my hand under the running water for a while and my other hand be the "tester" for the water, my hands began to lose the feeling of how hot the water might be for my son.  I thought this would be a good time to try out the **Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky**.  I put the duck in the bath and the bottom of it stayed blue and did not form the word "HOT" in white letters, so I knew the bath water wasn't too hot. The next time I used the duck, my husband got my son's bath water ready for me, so I went to get my son to put him in the bath. I dipped my hand in the water and it was so hot, it felt like it was boiling!  I wanted to see what the **Munchkin Safety Bath Duck **would say, so I put it in the bath water.  After sitting in the bath for about a minute, I picked it up expecting to see the word HOT on the bottom of the duck, but I didn't!  The water was way too hot for me to get into and I like very hot baths, so I know it was too hot for a baby to get into.  I was really shocked that this product didn't work.  Bath water being too hot is a safety hazard and this *safety *duck didn't do it's job. **The Scoop!** The only good thing about this product is that it has been retired from it's safety duties and is now just a bath toy.  I highly discourage anyone from buying this product!
